    Juventus 2-0 Empoli

Alex Sandro is off down the left for Juventus now, sliding a pass into Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine - who has scored more league goals this season than the entire Empoli side put together - takes one touch to create space for the shot where there seems none, but then skies the shot.

    Juventus 2-0 Empoli

Looking at it again, it's a really good finish from Alex Sandro, who has little space to work with, and has Vincent Laurini at his back too. The Juve left-back did very well to slot a shot through Laurini's legs there.

    Alex Sandro

That should do it. Gonzalo Higuain starts the move with a lovely turn and lay-off for Dani Alves, who overcooks the pass down the flank for Juan Cuadrado. The Colombian, however, retrieves the ball by the corner flag and plays it back for Alves. Again, it's not the best ball from the Brazilian, but Alex Sandro is able to control as it goes behind him, then turn and slot into the bottom corner.

I suppose the good thing for Struaro is that at least the shot wasn't so bad that it will go viral for the wrong reasons.

    Juventus 1-0 Empoli

Mario Mandzukic breaks out down the left for Juventus after a spell of Empoli pressure comes to nought. The Croat feeds a pass infield to Stefano Struaro, who strikes first time from outside the penalty area, dreaming of a goal of the season contender. Any hopes of going viral on social media are dashed, as the sliced effort fades well wide of the far post.

    Juventus 1-0 Empoli

Alex Sandro surges down the left for Juventus, who look to put the game to bed here. He angles a pass in the direction of Gonzalo Higuain, but Andrea Costa intercepts.

At the other end, there's half-a-chance for Omar El Kaddouri, but he clears the bar by some distance.

    Juventus 1-0 Empoli

Empoli are just about the only team in Europe to have scored fewer goals than Middlesbrough this season. What way back for them from here?

    Mario Mandzukic

There will be no more pictures of Cilla Black for you this evening.

Juve find a breakthrough, courtesy of two players who have been off-key to this point. Juan Cuadrado swings over a cross from the right, and Mario Mandzukic powers the header goalwards. It bounces down off the bar, off the goalkeeper, off the bar again, off the goalkeeper again, and eventually crosses the line.

It's been a slog for the leaders, but they are on their way now.

And now a shot at goal from Empoli, which is an event in itself, as Jose Mauri punts one from 25 yards. Neto, who has had so little to do that he could have prepared the half-time snacks and perhaps written a chapter or two of an autobiography, dives to gather at his near post.

    Juventus 0-0 Empoli

Juve not clicking in attack yet, but every so often, there's a moment of promise. Juan Cuadrado, down the right, lays a pass back for Dani Alves to cross on to the head of Mario Mandzukic. It's nodded down for Gonzalo Higuain to hit first-time from 15 yards, but it is not a clean connection, and the ball rolls tamely through to keeper Lukasz Skorupski.

    Juventus 0-0 Empoli

Omar El Kaddouri has a chance to run at the Juventus defence straight away. It's a promising opening, but Empoli's lack of a final ball shows again. He delays the pass to Jose Mauri a fraction too long, and a Juve defender steps in to intercept.

John McEnerney: At Euro '88, Ireland's debut in a major championship, beating England 1-0. What a day! An epic session was had! An upset and a half!

I'm asking for your greatest upsets, because I think Empoli winning tonight would be a huge shock. Will they do it? It's 0-0 as we stand.

    Glik definitely enjoyed that

Monaco extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to three points with victory at Guingamp.

Defender Kamil Glik stabbed in the opener and celebrated like he meant it, while Falcao's rejuvenation continued apace with a fierce bicycle kick that only just pinged over the bar via a defender's head.

Kylian Mbappe, Monaco's highly-rated 18-year-old striker, came on in the second half and had a stormer, winning a penalty that Fabinho chipped coolly home.

Etienne Didot fired home a late consolation from outside the box, but the home team were comfortably outplayed by Leonardo Jardim's side.

Second-placed Nice had moved level on points with Monaco on Friday, and Paris St-Germain, in third, are now six points behind. The defending champions play at Marseille on Sunday (20:00 GMT).

Iborra scored the winner 14 minutes from time, but Steven N'Zonzi looked to be offside in the build-up

Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra's introduction as a second-half substitute was key as Jorge Sampaoli's side triumphed in their local derby with Real Betis.

After coming from a goal down to win 2-1, Sevilla are now level on points with Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish table - although Madrid have two games in hand.

The first of those comes tomorrow, when Zinedine Zidane's side play at Villarreal. That's after Barcelona play at Atletico Madrid in the juiciest tie of the weekend.

Robert Lewandowski bagged a hat-trick as the Bundesliga leaders continued their astonishing record against Hamburg.

No goals here so far, but plenty elsewhere in Europe. Let's take a look at some of the big results from Germany, Spain and France.

Well. I began the half with a photo of the late Cilla Black, and I feel that is the only way to end the half. Surprise Surprise indeed. There will be a picture of Cilla Black for you at full-time, too, if it stays like this. And that's a promise.

...which turns out to be much ado about zero. The Empoli wall, which has more members than the Polyphonic Spree, gets into a to-do with the Juventus players hanging about nearby. When the dust settles, Miralem Pjanic slams a shot into the wall, and the groans from the home fans are audible.
