Armagh took a bit of time to settle but they seem fairly comfortable in creating those scoring opportunities. They were very unfortunate not to get that goal with that very last kick off the game. That will be decisive come the final whistle.

A lifeline for Monaghan right on the cusp of half-time means Kieran McGeeney’s Armagh side will head in with just a two-point lead.

There was almost a bigger cushion for the Orchard County moments earlier, with Conor Turbitt’s effort crashing back off the post just as the Armagh supporters began to celebrate.

A breathless, high-tempo first half comes to a close here in Clones.

The big risk for Monaghan coming here today was that they would possibly underperform and Armagh would get an early run on them, but they are very much in the game.

The second half is going to be fun!

It's as we expected from Monaghan. They needed a fast start and got it. They needed to be better defensively and have in large parts but Armagh have gotten through them too easily at times, especially with the last play and the Turbitt goal chance.
