Here's a quick rundown of the big moments from day three of the Commonwealth Games...

• Reuben Ward won Scotland's first all-around gymnastics gold medal as England's Adam Tobin missed out on bronze.
• England were outclassed 66-47 by reigning Commonwealth champions Australia in the netball, while Northern Ireland fell to a 64 48 defeat by Malawi and Scotland picked up their first win in Pool B with a 56-47 victory over Wales.
• England's Adam Ramsay-Peaty was fifth fastest in qualifying for the men's 50m breaststroke semi-finals.

After a busy afternoon of sport from Glasgow, I expect we're all in need of a bit of a breather.

Don't worry, we'll be back here at 18:00 BST for a huge night of swimming finals, with nine medals up for grabs, and the women will take to The Arena for the gymnastics all-around final too.

The home nations athletes will be aiming to follow in the footsteps of Reuben Ward, who claimed Scotland's first ever all-around gold medal a little earlier in a stunning men's final.

England looked off the pace in their second match of the Games as they fell to a comprehensive defeat by world number one team Australia earlier this afternoon.

This was England’s first proper test of the tournament and provided a measure of just what they will need to produce to close the gap between them and the defending champions.

Captain Fran Williams said: “Disappointed firstly, that’s not the result we came for and not the performance. We were far from our best. We didn’t cope well with their physicality. It’s really tough when a game blows out like that.”

Shooter Eleanor Cardwell was met by huge cheers from the crowd when she came on in the final quarter.

She continued to get support from England fans when she was met with a fierce physical battle with Australia's Sarah Klau and Courtney Bruce.

“I love the battle," she said. "As soon as they hit me, I just laugh it off because if they hit me that means they’re trying to get my head and I’m doing my job.”

England won the last quarter 12-10 so can take some solace in that and perhaps a lesson to bring Cardwell on earlier when competing against the more physical sides like Australia.

Men's all-around final

England's Luke Whitehouse was tipped to challenge for an all-around medal but after a disappointing start the World floor silver medallist had to settle for seventh.

He told BBC Sport: "I think just the first three apparatus [is where it got away]. I'm disappointed with the falls that I had, two of them on a triple back (on the floor and rings), which is really not like me at all, and a silly mistake on pommel.

"I am just happy the way I finished the competition on parallel bars, vault and high bar really.

"I've got three more finals to come, so just refocus, get back in the gym and focus on the floor, rings and vault finals. Hopefully I pick up a couple of medals."

Men's all-around final

England's Adam Tobin was in joint-second going into the final rotation and held onto bronze until the final two performances of the final round, eventually sliding to fifth, just 0.200 off the medals.

He told BBC Sport: "Of course I'm gutted. It's two tenths away from being on that podium, but I left it all out there today.

"I did clean routines, got some good scores, and I am proud. A bit of a tough pill to swallow, but I'm walking away happy.

"I had a shaky start on floor, and I felt like after that I had to keep climbing. I kept saying to my coach, I know I can do it. These next four pieces, I can get good scores on.

"That's what happened, but it came down to the fine margins in the end. Too close."

Not to be for Northern Ireland, as Malawi stepped it up again in the final quarter to claim their first win in comfortable fashion.

NI will go again tomorrow against Tonga at 16:00 BST.

Stephanie Kernachan's Games are over, after the Scottish boxer lost to Canada's Scarlett Savannah Delgado.

The 33-year-old came out of retirement to "realise her dream" of competing in Glasgow, and while she admits to being "absolutely devastated", she also says "she'll hold onto the moment for the rest of her life".

"I finally got here. I've got my dream. It's just really hard to not actually get any further."

Adam Tobin, who finished fifth in the men's all-around final, said he could hear Gabriel Langton supporting him from the stands.

"I think it was a moment for all of us as a team, seeing him walk into that hotel and put the medal over his neck, because we didn't know what was going on after his fall (on Friday)," he said.

"He left and we had a job to do. So since then, we didn't know what was going on. It made my heart full seeing him walk in healthy, getting that medal round his neck, which he deserved.

"He's back in the team, I heard him in the crowd earlier, it's just nice to have him back. Extremely happy that he's fit and healthy."

Another unfortunate injury for Singapore's Jovi Loh on the parallel bars in today's final saw him stretchered off by medical staff with an apparent knee injury.

It brought back memories of Friday night's sickening fall by England's Gabriel Langton from the high bar.

The 19-year-old was released from hospital on Saturday and is back with the team.

Speaking after today's all-around final, team-mate Luke Whitehouse said there was: "A lot of relief knowing there's no serious injuries, just bruising.

"The team welcomed him back into the hotel, so that was really special. He's my room-mate at these championships, so just a lot of relief and so happy for him.

"We still need a full group picture (with the team silver medal), we haven't had a full team picture of all five of us.

"I'm just so happy for the team and happy that Gabe's alright."

Wow! We've had a new Commonwealth record in the women's 48KG snatch. Take a bow Saikhom Mirabai Chanu from India, who lifted 85KG. The room erupted as they witnessed the achievement.

Hang on a minute, we have a game on our hands now after a storming third quarter from Northern Ireland.

They're still behind, but they have narrowed the gap significantly.

As fantastic as Reuben Ward was on his way to gold, Canada's Felix Dolci must wonder what if?

The team silver medallist posted 13.450 for his floor routine. Good start.

He then scored 9.500 for the pommel horse after coming off twice. It was the second lowest score on any apparatus by any of the 18 finalists.

Somehow he produced one of the great comebacks in the sport with 13.850 on the rings, 14.200 on the vault, 13.950 on the parallel bars and then a stunning 14.500 on the high bar to snatch silver.

If he'd only come off the pommel once he'd have likely been wearing a gold medal right now.

So far, so good for Malawi who are well on top at half-time.

They may be outnumbered in the Hydro, but the pockets of Malawi fans dotted around the stadium with their flags have been making plenty of noise and are up dancing and singing at the break.

Scotland still fourth in the medals table but second spot isn't far away.

There was a sense beforehand that Reuben Ward could contend here. A bronze maybe. Perhaps even a silver depending how things go.

His team-mates privately made noises that, should everything fall in his favour, gold could be within reach. They had seen him in training, and performed alongside him in the team event on Friday, where Scotland finished fourth.

They knew he was in good shape. And they've been proved right. A third gold medal of these Games for Scotland.
