Tottenham's home Champions League games will be played at Wembley this season, with work on their new stadium reducing the capacity at White Hart Lane.

It's worth recalling that north London rivals Arsenal played their home Champions League games at the 'old Wembley' in 1998-99 and 1999-2000.

While attendances and revenues were boosted, it was a failure from a football point of view. Six games brought three defeats and just two wins, resulting in group-stage exits in both seasons.

It was felt that the opposition were inspired by the Wembley setting. Could history repeat itself?

Leicester to start European adventurepublished at 12:09 BST 14 September 2016

    Football

Leicester City begin their first season in the Champions League tonight, with manager Claudio Ranieri saying his side will have to write "another fairytale" to win the competition.

Last season's surprise Premier League winners make their debut in the competition on Wednesday when they travel to Belgium to face Club Brugge.

"It's impossible to win the Champions League," said Italian Ranieri. "There are so many big teams. To win it we have to write another fairytale."

Meanwhile, Tottenham are preparing to swap White Hart Lane for European nights at Wembley Stadium - starting with tonight's game against Monaco in front of over 80,000.

It's the first time Spurs have featured in the Champions League since 2011.

And Manchester City try again against German club Borussia Monchengladbach after their game at the Etihad was postponed by bad weather on Tuesday.

All the games get under way at 19:45 BST.

We've mentioned that Dame Sarah Storey will be taking to the road today to defend her C5 cycling time trial title at the Paralympics in Rio (12:29 BST).

But she's just one course on a menu of action this afternoon.

Britain's Megan Giglia, having already won individual pursuit C3 gold on the track in Rio, will go in the C-3 time trial at 13:00 BST.

Para-canoe makes its Paralympics debut from 13:00 BST - there's a Briton in every race - and Matt Skelhon has his last shot (excuse the pun) at shooting gold in the R6 50m rifle Prone (13:30 BST).

On the track GB's sprint sensation Maria Lyle is in the T35 100m final (14:54 BST) and Kadeena Cox hopes to add to her gold tally in the T38 400m final (15:17 BST).

Plus, there's a host of ParalympicsGB swimmers in action in the pool, trying to get into their finals.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Phil Jones were the notable absentees from the open section of Manchester United's training session this morning.

No reason was given for either man's absence, although it is understood Mkhitaryan has been suffering from a thigh injury he aggravated in Saturday's defeat against Manchester City.

England international Jones is yet to make an appearance this season.

United fly to Holland later today for Thursday's Europa League encounter with Feyenoord.

The Hobby Douche: Played a game in Bradford, calf-deep mud. I saved a penalty, ball stuck in the mud - lads from both teams went for it. About 15 lads ended up in the back of the net in the scramble, me on top the ball and concussed as I dived on it. Goal given. Left the park in a Yorkshire ambulance.

  15. Russia reacts to Wada files hackpublished at 10:57 BST 14 September 2016

We mentioned earlier (08:49 entry) that Russian hackers had leaked confidential medical files of US Olympic athletes including Serena and Venus Williams and teenage gymnast Simone Biles.

The files alleged that Biles and Serena Williams were taking medication under therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs).

Biles has since said she takes medicine for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, while Serena Williams was granted permission to use drugs commonly used to treat muscle injuries, such as anti-inflammatories.

BBC Monitoring has told us that Russian TV is dominated by reports of the hack on a World Anti-Doping Agency database:

"State-run Channel One said 'US athletes managed to get "faster, higher and stronger for a reason,' while the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid said: 'It looks like muscular figures of Venus and Serena Williams are the result of not only hard training.' Moscow has denied that Russian agencies were involved in the hack.

"On Russian social media (where the story is trending), many users are sharing images of Serena and Maria Sharapova, comparing their body types."

The Russian Embassy in the UK has also tweeted about the leak...
