[Verstappen is on] six lap fresher rubber, that is going to give him a significant pace advantage. I think Verstappen is going to get Hamilton relatively easily.

  2. Verstappen comes into the pitspublished at 14:27 BST

So has the undercut from Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton on Max Verstappen worked?

Well Verstappen comes into the pits for a set of hards and he comes out behind Hamilton and in sixth place.

Meanwhile, race leader George Russell comes into the pits shortly after meaning he'll have to go 51 laps on the hard tyre if he is planning a one-stop.

In all respect, you wonder if Ferrari are three-stopping, doesn't it? The others extending quite significantly, they are obviously not going in the same strategy race.

Now Ferrari are getting to grips with the car, I think Lewis has got another Championship in him! Go Lewis!

    Joe, Malvern

This is incredible racing! First Kimi vs Charles, then Max Vs Lewis, and there’s still 55+ laps left!

    Jacob, Cardiff

Ferrari must be suffering on this first stint. The drivers must be wishing the laps run out faster and do the pits! Leclerc falling behind with every lap and Hamilton struggling to keep ahead of Verstappen, no longer chasing Russell.

Lewis is in the middle of the pack now, this lap is critical. is pitstop was 2.4 seconds so decent stop from his Ferrari crew but absolutely, this is critical.

    So, back to the front.

George Russell leads Max Verstappen by 5.3 seconds after 15 laps of this race. Max certainly looks in decent shape now.

Meanwhile Lewis Hamilton's been noted for forcing another driver off the track after his battle with Verstappen.

Are Ferrari conceding they're a bit too hot on their tyres?

Well they've brought in Charles Leclerc and stuck a set of hards on his car, too.

Could they be going for a three-stop?

Fantastic driving from two world champions there [Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen]. In the meantime, George Russell now five seconds up the road due to the fighting, this intense fighting between Lewis and Max.

[Charles Leclerc] was told tyre degradation is as expected, he wasn't saying that himself. It is the team informing him about the others around him and his own.

  17. Max and Lewis go wheel to wheelpublished at 14:17 BST

This Verstappen-Hamilton battle is playing into the hands of race leader George Russell who's extended his lead to 3.3 seconds.

He's told over the team radio to maximise that advantage.

And in the aftermath, Max Verstappen puts in a pin perfect overtake on Hamilton to take P2.

But not for long as Lewis snatches it back as they go wheel to wheel.

Max goes into the gravel just briefly and Lewis holds position. Sensational racing!

You would expect a Hamilton radio. The car is moving to oversteer quite quicky so I think Ferrari are overheating the surface of their tyres at the moment and really suffering in this phase of the race.

  20. Postpublished at 14:15 BST

Max Verstappen's had a stormer of a race start so far and he's up into third and just six tenths behind Lewis Hamilton as he targets second.

Headed into lap 10, Lewis has a wobble into the final corner and he looks like a sitting duck here in that Ferrari.

Some great battles in the early stages of this race.
