The racing might be cracking entertainment for us watching this race, but it's less good if you're Lewis Hamilton in his Ferrari..

We are 32 laps into this race, there's overtakes all over the shop, poorly timed pit stops and some really unusual strategies going on here.

Are you not entertained? I'm loving this.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen has just set the fastest lap and he has got that lead down to 4.7 seconds. That's George Russell's gap. Under five seconds now. That lead fight is definitely on it would appear.

  5. Antonelli moves thirdpublished at 14:41 BST

Kimi Antonelli does indeed take third from Charles Leclerc but there's more optimistic news for Ferrari down the road.

Yet again today Lewis Hamilton goes wheel-to-wheel with a Red Bull, this time as he sweeps past Isack Hadjar into fifth place.

  6. Postpublished at 14:40 BST

Brake split or not, Kimi Antonelli has placed his Mercedes all over the back of Charles Leclerc's Ferrari.

There's some fantastic racing going on today but can the championship leader make his pace stick and move up to third?

Meanwhile, the Lewis Hamilton soft experiment is working for the time being at least. He's a tenth behind Isack Hadjar's Red Bull.

I am not understanding that decision, soft tyres. That is going to last 10 laps maximum, so [Hamilton] has committed to a three stop and the others are talking about maybe doing one. I just don't understand how they are benefitting.

At the restart after that VSC, George Russell leads Max Verstappen. Charles Leclerc is in third, Kimi Antonelli fourth and Oscar Piastri fifth.

Lewis Hamilton, who's sort of the odd one out at the minute with a set of softs on, is seventh having pitted twice in the opening 29 laps.

  9. Team radio - Antonelli to Mercedespublished at 14:37 BST

Antonelli: "What is happening with these brakes? I have no confidence"

Engineer: "Got a brake split, mate. One is hotter than the other"

Kimi Antonelli's had a bit of bad luck with his pit stop timing and now he's got issues with the brakes on his Mercedes.

The VSC comes to an end but he'll have to nurse that car to the finish line.

There is no benefit [to Antonelli's pit stop] at the moment because [Antonelli] came out, VSC was called but just too early to make a benefit there.

So the question now is, has Verstappen got the pace to challenge Russell. Russell has set the fastest lap one minute, 11.2. Verstappen is half a second slower than him on that lap as he crosses the line. 3.6 seconds behind him.

Carlos Sainz's Williams has come to a halt on the start finish straight.

Kimi Antonelli pits shortly after but BEFORE a virtual safety car was brought in.

If Mercedes had waited one more lap surely that would have given him a huge advantage! What bad timing for the championship leader.

  15. Postpublished at 14:32 BST

A reminder that race leader Kimi Antonelli is yet to pit and is still on the medium tyre.

Surely he's not going for a one-stop? He's been on the medium for 24 laps at this point.

  16. Postpublished at 14:31 BST

That's a crucial move from Max Verstappen, who's been absolutely flying in the past couple of laps.

Are Lewis Hamilton's hard tyres already suffering? Track temperature is very warm, after all.

23 laps gone and this is certainly a very alluring grand prix we've got on our hands, folks.

So the stewards aren't going to get involved with the incident between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen's wheel-to-wheel battle earlier.

And shortly after that decision, they battle once again as Verstappen takes the position from Hamilton before the Brit takes it back...only for Max to take third back for a second time!

Engineer: "We're going to stay out. you'll get clean air, we're going to extend."

Norris: "Yeah but I've got no more pace so... this is it."

So Lando Norris is staying out but he doesn't sound too enthused about that prospect given his issues with the McLaren today.

He's 11.23 seconds behind current race leader Kimi Antonelli after 21 laps.
