    National League strugglers Sutton United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Chris Haigh.

    The 28-year-old kept seven clean sheets in 21 starts for Chelmsford City in National League South and also played in City's FA Cup first round win over Braintree and their subsequent second round exit against Weston-super-Mare.

    Haigh is reunited with his former Worthing manager Chris Agutter, having left the Rebels to join Chelmsford last summer, and will take on a player-coach role at Gander Green Lane.

    The U's lie fourth-bottom, sitting in the relegation zone on goal difference.

    Haigh began his career at Watford and had a stint at Gillingham before moving around numerous non-league clubs in the south east, helping Ebbsfleet and Oxford City to promotion to the National League and winning man of the match at Wembley as Concord Rangers were edged out by Harrogate in the FA Trophy final in 2021.

    Scunthorpe United have extended the loan of goalkeeper Rory Mahady for another month.

    Mahady, 19, initially joined from Leeds United in October and has since played in 11 games for the Iron.

    Aidan Elliot-Wheeler is to remain on loan with Gateshead for the rest of the season.

    The Oxford United defender, 19, has made six appearances for the Heed since his initial move in late November.

    But Kian Pennant and Ibrahim Bakare have returned to Leicester City and Kyle Hurst to Doncaster Rovers upon the completion of their loan deals with the Tyneside club.

    Hartlepool United have extended the loan of Millwall goalkeeper George Evans until February.

    The 20-year-old has played 12 National League games for Pools this season and kept four clean sheets.

    Goalkeeper Rory Brown has left Solihull Moors following the end of his contract.

    The former Wolverhampton Wanderers academy graduate joined the Moors from Northern Ireland side Coleraine last summer on a contract until 6 January 2026.

    The 25-year-old from Londonderry did not make a league appearance for Solihull but did play three times in the National League Cup.

    The club described Brown as a "committed and valued member of the squad throughout his time at Damson Park".

  6. Jennings extends loan spell at Suttonpublished at 09:39 GMT 6 January

    AFC Wimbledon midfielder Kai Jennings has extended his loan at Sutton United until the end of the season.

    He had originally joined the club until 4 January and made 14 appearances in the first half of the campaign.

    Maldini Kacurri has returned to Arsenal following the end of his loan deal with Morecambe.

    The 20-year-old defender made 18 National League appearances during his time with the club and scored one goal which came in a 2-0 victory over Brackley Town in November.

    Solihull Moors have extended their loan deal for Stoke City's Darius Lipsiuc until the end of the season.

    The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international has scored four goals in 21 appearances for the National League side this eason.

    The 20-year-old has been on the books at Stoke for two years, having joined the Potters from St Patrick's Athletic in January 2024.

    Brackley Town have extended the loans of Birmingham City's Ben Wodskou and Byron Pendleton for the rest of the season.

    Striker Wodskou, 19, has scored one goal in three appearances since first joining the National League club on an initial one-month loan.

    Defender Pendleton, 20, played two games last month against Forest Green and Boston United and was on the winning side in both.

    "Both players have quickly adapted to the demands of senior football and have played an important role in recent performances," said a club statement.

    Brackley are 17th in the table following last season's promotion, three points clear of the relegation places.

    Yeovil Town have agreed a new contract with striker Luke McCormick, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028.

    McCormick, 26, joined Yeovil back in August after being released by Bristol Rovers and he has scored eight goals in 25 league appearances for the Glovers.

    Eastleigh have signed defenders Luey Giles and Will Spiers on loan from Cardiff City for the rest of the season.

    Giles, 19, and Spiers, 20, are both part of the Bluebirds' academy with left-back Giles having made eight senior appearances for the League One club, including three cup games this campaign.

    Right-back Spiers has played two first-team games for Cardiff so far, both in the EFL Trophy.

    He spent time on loan with Welsh National League North side Merthyr Town earlier this season.

    Sutton United have signed midfielder Dubem Eze from League One club Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

    The 20-year-old had spells in the youth set-up at Chelsea, Derby County and Norwich City at the start of his career before joining Bolton in 2024.

    He joined Scunthorpe United on loan in the summer and scored twice in their 5-0 FA Trophy win over Peterborough Sports on 13 December.

    Sutton are 21st in the table and following the postponement of Saturday's game at Scunthorpe, they will next be in action at home to York City on 10 January.

    "It feels like I'm back home, being from just around the corner (in South Morden). It's good to be here and I'm excited to get started," said Eze.
