Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a big chance. I wasn't sure if I was on or off. I timed it well, but hit it straight at the keeper. It's got to be a goal.

"The conditions for both teams with the pitch and the wind made it a difficult game. We tried to manage the situations as best we could.

"We kept a great line. There was a bit of luck as well. That's what VAR is for."

On European finish: "I don't think it's ruled out. We take each game as it comes, anything can happen. I haven't looked at the table. Hopefully, things work in our favour as well."

    Manchester United

The Premier League record for assists in one season is 20 by Thierry Henry (2002-03) and Kevin de Bruyne (2019-20).

Bruno Fernandes now has 16 with eight games of the season left.

  3. 'Fernandes was the difference'published at 16:10 GMT 15 March

    Wayne Rooney
Former Man Utd striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

This was a very important victory for Manchester United. The first half was a bit flat from both teams, and maybe they cancelled each other out, but then, in the second half, United played with more energy. The main man for United again, Bruno Fernandes, was the difference.

Navers: I think it's safe to say that Aston Villa have reached their peak and it's going to be difficult to return there unless they actually spend. Not all their fault, but I can see Unai Emery leaving as a result of this.

Manchester United, in the end, showed that quality and composure in the final third.

This 3-1 victory sounds and looks about right to me. Aston Villa are a little bit off it, and Manchester United are very much on it.

  6. 'Leeds managed the game well'published at 16:04 GMT 15 March

    FT: Crystal Palace 0-0 Leeds

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea and Fulham goalkeeper on Sports Extra 2 at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace were lacking that cutting edge in the end. Their deliveries into the box weren't great. They didn't create enough for a side who had a numerical advantage.

Overall, Leeds will be really happy with picking up a point at a crucial stage of the season. They managed the game really well.
