Ollie Norburn is back in the book. Let's hope nobody loses a boot near him any time soon.

The County man is just back from a ban, picked up for launching an opponent's stray boot off the field when he was already on a booking against Chesterfield on 14 March.

And now he's got a pretty early booking for an avoidable off the ball collision with Mike Fondop.

You've got to believe, Andy... and most of the country will be behind you on 4 April at least.

If you look at how they [Notts County] are playing now, even though they're 1-0 down, they're moving it well and not giving up.

Set-pieces in these conditions look more dangerous than usual but County can't make the most of one from the left with Ollie Norburn's inswinger turned behind by Ryan Woods, though Alassana Jatta is adjudged to have got the final touch.

He is not happy about it.

The visitors building some pressure though.

Better spell from County as they pin the Latics back with some neat football on the deck but, urged to shoot by the 1,000 travelling fans, Ollie Norburn sees a 20-yard strike charged down by Ryan Woods.

Neither side are slowing it down at the moment are they? Both are at 100 miles per hour. Every time there is a throw-in, goal-kick or free-kick, they're right at it.

Alassana Jatta versus Manny Monthe is box-office stuff already.

It could easily be a heayweight prize fight. The big Gambian striker against the big Cameroonian defender.

Jatta is penalised for hauling down his marker as he tried to spin away on halfway this time, but it's not the last we'll see of this duel.

Mat Hudson to the rescue for Oldham. How he wants that clean sheet record.

Jodi Jones does well down the left and swings in a cross which drifts goalwards on the wind and is met by the head of Alassana Jatta at the back stick but his header back across goal is blocked by the sprawling Hudson diving to his left.

The wind is pretty much coming in straight from behind the goal Notts County are defending and they are trying to take advantage of that by playing direct towards Alassana Jatta wherever possible.

It does also mean some of those long balls are blown straight out of play.

Oldham's big Manny Monthe is penalised for an overly physical challenge in midfield.

Andrew Humphries has blown for a couple of those in the early stages.

Alassana Jatta looks offside as he runs onto a ball down the Magpies left but play goes on and the ball is ushered back to Mat Hudson.

His clearance kick hangs high in the air and is blow back towards his own corner flag, landing about 20 yards from where he made contact in the end.

I don't know what's clicked, but we're glad it has. It was only a couple of weeks ago we're posing problems about where the goals are going to come from.

Alassana Jatta was injured, we had suspensions to Lee Ndlovu and Matty Dennis. We had no recognised centre-forwards but boy have they responded well.

And that's the thing I will say about Notts under Martin Paterson this season, when they've been asked questions, when they've faced adversity, they've generally found an answer.

More players have come to the party, putting goals in - 18 in their last six, nine in their last two. We need that to continue.

I think it’s really good [that manager Micky Mellon has signed a new two-year deal with Oldham]. For me it’s his experience. It’s looking at his CV and seeing the promotions he’s been involved in.

You can’t take that away from somebody. He’s been absolutely fantastic. It’s an absolute no-brainer. The club believe in him.

I don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t want to get that sealed. It’s a brilliant thing for Oldham Athletic moving forward.

Micky Mellon has made one change to the in-form Latics side which overcame Harrogate on Saturday.

Oli Hammond drops to the bench with Kai Payne coming into the midfield.

Martin Paterson has made two alterations to the Magpies XI which overcame Cheltenham 5-2 three days ago.

Ollie Norburn is recalled in midfield and Lucas Ness is in the back-line with Harald Tangen dropping to the bench and no Rod McDonald.

Luton loanee Jayden Luker is also on the bench, the 20-year-old has not appeared since September after undergoing knee surgery.
