Anthony Gordon has been involved in 13 goals in 23 Premier League appearances in 2024 for Newcastle - seven goals and six assists.

The England winger, 23, has yet to score or assist against former club Everton and has one goal in his last 15 games at Goodison Park.

Man City midfielder Mateo Kovacic, speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a tough game like every game in the Premier League, we always say that there are no easy games. We dominated in the beginning and couldn't score, conceded the goal and then came back quickly. In the end we won it and it was a tough game against an opponent in good form, so for us it is good to continue winning.

On filling the Rodri void in midfield: "I am playing there in the middle at the moment and of course we need to cover for Rodri, we miss him a lot. I think any team would miss him, the player that he is, and we wish him a speedy recovery and hope he comes back in a good a shape as possible.

"For now we have to adapt and for sure the manager has a lot of options so we can rotate."

On his second goal: "The manager told us that we should be in and around the box because the ball always arrives there. I was luckily there and Bernardo gave me a good ball, it was good control and a good shot.

"It is always important to get the win, it doesn't matter who scores, the most important thing is getting three points. And now we hope to continue like this."

I really don't know what to expect, so I am going to sit firmly on the fence and go for a draw.

Liverpool's victory against Crystal Palace means they will stay at the top of the Premier League table throughout the international break.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal come from behind to secure three points which leaves them within a point of the leaders.

Going into the 17:30 BST kick-off Newcastle will need three points to climb into the top four whilst Everton will be looking to build from their win against Crystal Palace last week.

Will they be back in the Champions League next campaign?

Kieran McKenna will probably say this second half has been as bad a half as Ipswich have had this season, but all credit to West Ham, who cruised to the win in the end.

West Ham can head off into the international break in a much happier frame of mind than they were in their last home game, a 3-0 loss to Chelsea.

But they won't find many teams this season so willing to gift them as many goals and chances. Matches to come against Tottenham and Manchester United in their next two fixtures later in October, will give a better representation of how West Ham are doing under Julen Lopetegui.

Nevertheless, he needed the three points and that's exactly what he's getting. Ipswich need to learn from this shocking second half and improve. West Ham win and win well.

Facundo Buonanotte's winner means it will be a good night in Leicester.

They rode their luck but held on, after Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Ouattara hit the woodwork and Lewis Cook's free kick was disallowed for offside.

The Foxes needed the points and Steve Cooper has asked for the Leicester fans to trust him. That faith will continue to come with more wins.

Wolves supporters have voiced their anger after a winless Premier League run extends into the seventh match and deep into October.

A sixth defeat in seven matches was played out in a deserved 5-3 defeat at Brentford as audible boos were heard from the away end after referee Andrew Madley blew his whistle.

The entire squad of players and manager Gary O'Neil went over to the away fans to acknowledge their support after the match to a mixed reception.

O'Neil had faced chants of "you don't know what you're doing" during the match and the ownership were targeted with signing for "we want Fosun out".

Frustation is growing as Wolves remain bottom of the Premier League going into the international break, with questions now being asked by supporters.

Arsenal survive a scare, but the winning machine goes on.
