Ipswich have scored six goals in the league now this season, Liam Delap, named in the England Under-21 squad earlier this week, has four of them. He was easily able to create space to turn on the edge of the penalty area with some poor defending and shoot home.
But there will be questions also asked of home keeper Alphonse Areola. His performance in West Ham's last home game, a 3-0 loss to Chelsea, was heavily criticised and he got an arm to Delap's strike, but could only divert it into the roof of the net.
A crazy start at London Stadium and it's one apiece.

Brentford's X (Twitter) account says "we are getting slow" after netting in the second minute.
They were 15 seconds away from getting another first minute goal as Nathan Collins headed in the opener, which was still remarkably quick given Wolves opted to kick-off to try and arrest these rapid Bees starts.
Brentford supporters began the match chanting "we are going to score in a minute" and did just that.
But credit to Wolves for surviving the first minute and finding a quick reply by equalising just two minutes and 42 seconds later. This has been a breathless start to this very open match.

West Ham conceded a goal inside a minute against Brentford last time out, now it has taken only 48 seconds for them to go ahead against Ipswich Town, Michail Antonio sweeping home after Jarrod Bowen's fine low cross from the right.
It was a moment to forget for Ipswich midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who was on loan at London Stadium last season, as he gave away the ball 35 yards from his own goal not too long before Bowen's assist.
Ipswich Town quickly sold out their 3,000 allocation and the travelling fans are still in good voice, trying to help their side, but it's West Ham who have made a dream start.
