Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It was very emotional, always when you get the win in the last minute it is. I think we deserved to win, we had a good game not a perfect game. There were also situations where United had the chance to win the game.

"I'm very proud of the team, they showed the value of never giving up and that's very important to me.

"I think the first half was equal and then in the second half we started to control the game quite well. We had a lot of chances, especially in the second half.

"Their goal for me was from out of nowhere. I then didn't like the losing the control. Then after their offside goal I think we started to control the game again. In the end, I think we deserved to win."

On goalscorer Joao Pedro: "I think Joao is a player who can decide the game with one action. For me it was impressive today how he worked against the ball. He had the belief he would score and that's something that makes him special. But in the end it's always a team win and that's most important."

Fulham were competitive against Manchester United last week and probably felt hard done by they didn't come away with a point.

Leicester got absolutely trounced in the first half against Tottenham. But in fairness, they were resilient, got the goal and carried a threat.

It was great to see Jamie Vardy back in the Premier League and getting a goal from Leicester's perspective, too.

But I think Fulham at home, this will be a 2-0 win.

It has been shrewd [business] from Fulham.

Four out of the five transfers have got Premier League experience and they know they can play at this level.

It's a surprise that Crystal Palace have let Joachim Andersen go especially with Marc Guehi's ongoing transfer saga - everything good that Palace have done has been under Andersen's guidance.

Emile Smith-Rowe is going to burst into life and Marco Silva’s signings have been very good this season.

Spurs could have been eight up at half-time against Leicester but didn't take the chances and that will have been a bit of a sickener, it will have felt like a defeat.

There are high hopes for Ange Postecoglou in his second season and they made great progress last year.

Everton played well for the first 20 minutes against Brighton and are a team who will sit and frustrate the life out of Tottenham and then counter.

They ran Tottenham close last season but I will say Spurs at home, in front of their own fans, need to be more clinical and will be.

Sutton's prediction: 3-1

If you're an Everton fan and you're not concerned then you're not paying attention.

First of all look off the field. There is real problems with the sale, they want to sell and it isn't happening.

There is massive debt at the club which makes it a problem to sell, there is still possibilities and options but it's starting to roll on a bit.

Something has to change.

It does not feel like summer at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium but the rain has cleared up ahead of kick-off.

There will be a slick surface for manager Ange Postecoglou to play his exciting brand of 'Ange-ball' and his team will expect to dominate possession at home to Everton.

Furthermore, Spurs fans will demand their first victory of the season with tough fixtures to come.

But Sean Dyche has a strong Everton side despite complaining of his lack of options ahead of kick, albeit with two academy stars on their bench, as they look to get points on the board after a 3-0 defeat to Brighton last weekend.

I really like the work Ipswich have done in the transfer market. They are signing Armando Broja and also got Sammie Szmodics, Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson in, so they are giving it a go.

For the first hour against Liverpool, I thought they really pushed them and played with great intensity. I feel really sorry for them the fixtures have fallen as they have done.

Manchester City got a pretty routine win against Chelsea last week and that is them fairly half-cooked and nowhere near up to speed, so that is ominous for Arsenal, Liverpool and everybody else. At home, it will be business as usual for City.

All the talk pre-season was how are we going to get someone to give Rodri a rest and it falls out of the sky - it is a no brainer [signing Ilkay Gundogan].

He is going to have a couple of training sessions and he doesn’t have to work on the system. The midfield all of a sudden looks insane again and we are all buzzing that Gundogan is back.

You wouldn’t find a City fan in the world that isn’t made-up.

The Ilkay Gundogan signing is genius work, not just for his ability on the pitch but around the training ground too. He will keep the standards up. The young players coming through there will learn off him. Not good news for the rest of the league, but to have a player like him back in the league is great. What a player he is.

They say never go back in football, but Ilkay Gundogan's return to Manchester City seems to be a move that everyone is happy with.

The midfielder signed for his former club from Barcelona yesterday and is on the bench today.

He got a great reception from City fans when he got off the team bus and he has just been applauded by fans and some of his team-mates as he emerged for the warm up.

The last player aged over 37 to score in consecutive Premier League appearances was Cristiano Ronaldo back in April and May of 2022.

I think this goal at the end shows how much we wanted to win the game, first game at home against a big team. I cannot feel better than today. I think the team did well and now we need to rest because we have another big game next weekend."

On the fans' reactions: "I think the fans know the power of the team so they always expect a great game against big teams and today we won so I think everyone is happy and we need to enjoy."

On staying motivated in the game: "Like the gaffer said to us, we need to believe in ourselves, we know they are United, a big club, but I think everyone wants to show our power. I think this is what motivates us to fight against a big team and you never know. Now we need to think about the next game, another big team."

On Fabian Hurzeler's impact: "I think he's a very good person, he always tries to push us to believe in ourselves, to keep it going. I think it was another big game for us, another three points and this is what he wants: to fight, push, until the end."

The Brighton manager, Fabian Hurzeler showed a statement of intent this afternoon. He was brave with substitutions, Brighton weathered the game and they had a good approach to the game.

They got their reward by being positive and brave.

Anyone who supports a team that has had a long, long stay outside of the top flight will understand the buzz Ipswich fans will be feeling right now.

For the first time in 24 years they are in Manchester to face City in a league game, and there were plenty of smiles on the faces of Ipswich fans around the ground as they were soaking it all in.

Yes, there is a strong chance they will be well beaten but this is a trip to the Premier League champions, playing as league equals, and the Ipswich fans are rightly enjoying every moment.

This, to be fair, is what half-and-half scarves are made for.
