There was stunned silence as a near perfect first half for Tottenham was potentially marred by a Micky van de Ven injury.

It was innocuous enough as Dwight McNeil simply ran into the Dutchman while dribbling but in their clash of knees, he came off worse.

But he is up after testing the knee out walking to the touchline with the physio and is defending this 2-0 lead before the break.

He will likely again be assessed at half-time to see if it is wise to continue.

It is a joke. That should have been a penalty for Ipswich. It is ironic how it is the same two players involved as the one given to Man City. Savinho comes in with the challenge on Davis and I think there is more contact here than the first one. I'm bemused by that decision.

After an all-action start it is all feeling very routine here for Manchester City now, so much so there's plenty heading to the concourse for half-time refreshments with just under five minutes to go.

Liverpool at home and Manchester City away were always going to be two incredibly hard games to start the season with for Ipswich, but City are playing with such confidence and control that there's very few sides who could live with them today.

Ipswich full-back Leif Davis was the player who fouled Savinho for the City penalty. We've got a reversal now with the hosts' winger tangling with the Englishman.

The ref waves away the penalty appeals and the VAR doesn't get involved either. There looked to be a fair bit of a contact.

So close to an opening goal for Palace. Adam Wharton's pass finds Eberechi Eze, who cracks the West Ham crossbar with a curling effort that had Alphonse Areola well beaten.

The hosts have had a few decent chances now while West Ham have not had a single shot on target so far.

Everton's season is a little over two hours old. They have conceded five times and scored zero goals.
