    Hull 0-0 Millwall

The first chance comes Hull's way as Lewie Coyle whips a good ball into the Millwall area and Oli McBurnie meets it but can't time his header and it's comfortably wide of Anthony Patterson's goal.

  2. 'Perfect conditions'published at 12:35 GMT 7 March

It's perfect conditions. The pitch isn't the greatest but at least it's flat with the faint rugby lines on there.

Hull are attacking, scoring lots of goals and their frontline are dangerous.

  3. CLOSE!published at 12:35 GMT 7 March

    Blackburn 0-0 Portsmouth

Brilliant build-up from Blackburn and they should be ahead.

Ryoya Morishita does well to work some space down the right flank, staves off his marker and whips a ball into the box to his compatriot Yuki Ohashi.

But Ohashi boots his effort well over the Portsmouth crossbar.

  4. Late change for Millwallpublished at 12:31 GMT 7 March

    Hull 0-0 Millwall

There's been a late change to Millwall's team at MKM Stadium as Casper De Norre was injured in the warm-up, with 19-year-old Tommy Watson making just his second start for the club.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 12:30 GMT 7 March

Away we go at Ewood Park and the MKM Stadium to kickstart the day's Championship action.

    Kevin Gallacher
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio Lancashire

I was hoping Preston would do us a favour last night but unfortunately Oxford showed a different character and came away with an unbelievable victory.

That makes this game even bigger and I think if we take the game to Portsmouth we can get the win.

They have to put in a performance to get the correct result

The big matches in the play-off race keep coming as we head towards the crucial end to the season, and today Millwall travel to Hull City as the team in fifth place hosts fourth.

A win for Alex Neil's side would see them leapfrog Ipswich Town into third, ahead of their match against Leicester City later.

But Hull are undefeated in their past seven league meetings against Millwall, dating back to April 2022.

A win for the Tigers could see them open up a 10-point cushion from seventh place, should other results also go their way.

Four of the top six are in action today starting with a big game in the lunchtime kick-off between Hull City and Millwall.

The Lions will move up to third with a win and just a point behind second-placed Middlesbrough, while the Tigers can leapfrog Millwall into fourth.

Coventry have the chance to extend their lead at the top to eight points later with Boro not in action until Sunday.

Ipswich will be hoping to muscle their way into the automatic promotion places on goal difference should they beat Leicester at 15:00 GMT.

Meanwhile Portsmouth also make a pair of changes for their trip to Ewood Park.

Conor Shaughnessy returns to the bench from a lengthy injury absence.

  13. Blackburn and Pompey aim to restore cushion on bottom threepublished at 12:13 GMT 7 March

    Bottom 10 in the Championship

    Well well well.

Look at how tight things are at the bottom of the Championship after Oxford's win against Preston last night.

Blackburn welcome Portsmouth to Ewood Park with both sides now looking over their shoulder. Quite the feat given that only a few games ago, the pair had built a fair cushion on the bottom three.

As for their respective recent records, it's very much honours even between Rovers and Pompey.

In their past four games, both sides have won twice and lost twice. Victory for Blackburn today could put them six points off the drop zone while a Portsmouth win will take them seven points off the bottom three.

Blackburn suffered a blow this week when it emerged that midfielder Sondre Tronstad had suffered a season-ending injury.

The 30-year-old was taken off at half-time during Rovers' defeat by Bristol City with an anterior cruciate knee ligament injury.

Having undergone reconstructive surgery, he will play no further part this term.

"We were trying to be optimistic, trying to be hopeful, but in the first half against Bristol City you could tell he wasn't himself," Blackburn boss Michael O'Neill told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"The outcome was the worst we feared."

Oxford United claimed a precious three points last night with an impressive 3-1 win away at Preston to climb out of the relegation zone.

Michal Helik gave the U's a fifth-minute lead but Milutin Osmajic soon levelled in a frantic opening, with both goals aided by some poor defending.

The visitors spurned good chances to add a second but did restore their lead after the break through Will Lankshear's deft finish before Ciaron Brown hooked in a third.

It earned Oxford back-to-back wins for the first time this season and lifted them above West Bromwich Albion on goal difference and a point ahead of Leicester in 23rd.
