Aston Villa v Wolves (14:05 GMT)

    Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter at Villa Park

Wolves arrive at Villa Park having lost their last six games in all competitions and in desperate need of a victory.

Villa have won their last four matches and are looking to return to the top four but Wolves - still winless and bottom of the Premier League - have frustrated them at home before.

Wolves have lost their last two visits to the stadium but those are their only defeats in the last six trips.

When you're looking at this West Ham team right now, they need a player like Bill Bonds. He was a fantastic leader and a brilliant player.

I'm sending my thoughts and prayers out to his family.

    Nott'm Forest v Brighton (14:05 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Sean Dyche has said Nottingham Forest's improved run of results has been delivered from a base of being "strong, fit and organised" while also allowing his players "freedom to play".

Forest had gone 10 games without a win and had not kept a clean sheet in their first 11 matches of the season when Dyche became the club's third boss of the campaign on 21 October.

Since then, they have won four out of seven matches, shutting out the opposition on four occasions.

"We know we've got talent here and we know we've got players still developing into the Premier League, but we give them a platform to work from," Dyche told BBC Radio 5 Live. "We make it clear, that base we work from, but then allow that freedom to come from that base."

Aston Villa v Wolves (14:05 GMT)

    Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter at Villa Park

Harvey Elliott was included in Aston Villa's Christmas video - played on the screens ahead of the game.

It was a rare sighting of the on-loan Liverpool man - who is once again left out of the squad by Unai Emery and has not played in the Premier League since September.

He has played five times for Villa this season and a permanent £35m move will be trigged if he makes 10 appearances.

Having featured for Liverpool and Villa this season he cannot play for another side [unless it is in an overlapping league like the MLS which is not being considered] so his options are return to Anfield or stick it out at a Villa, where the club does not appear to want him.

There's an incredible task ahead of Rob Edwards as survival has never been achieved from Wolves' position before.

If they were a team that had been decimated by injuries or really underperforming for reasons beyond us, then you would say there is a bit of hope.

But looking at their performances this season and looking at the way their squad is, I just don't see it happening. That being the case, are Wolves already planning for next season?

  6. 'His playing career was so phenomenal'published at 14:00 GMT 30 November 2025

West Ham v Liverpool (14:05 GMT)

    Chris Hughton
Former West Ham player on BBC Radio 5 Live

I remember Billy Bonds very much as a player and I remember what he meant to the club. You couldn't ignore his playing career because it was so phenomenal.

At the end of my Tottenham career, I went to West Ham United and joined a very good side. I found him very humble, very down to earth, very straight-talking.

The players respected him, not only because of what he meant to the club but also because of the way he treated people. He was incredibly down to earth.

West Ham United v Liverpool (14:05 GMT)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at London Stadium

This is going to be a very emotional day at West Ham United after the news that legendary former captain and manager Billy Bonds has died, aged 79.

A picture of Bonds holding the FA Cup after the win against Fulham at Wembley in 1975 is adorning the giant screens at either end of the London Stadium.
