Everton

Everton boss David Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports: "We made a lot of real good opportunities. We were intense and on the front foot nearly the whole game.

"The team played really well, so no complaints. Just the finishing..."

On Michael Keane's attempts: "Keano [Michael Keane] is capable of it, and he has done it in the past. His [Emi Martinez] save was really good. The second opportunity [for Keane] I thought it had gone in. No complaints with the performance. The players went about their job brilliantly well.

"I come away thinking we had a good piece of the game today. I thought it was a good Premier League game for 0-0. More than likely, we deserved the victory. We scored three goals last week. We could have easily been 3-0 by half-time if we had taken our opportunities today.

"The crowd were magnificent again, and I think that's what we're getting better at. We know we're not the finished article."

West Ham will be keen to build on their 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest before the international break, while Spurs will want to bounce back from their defeat by Bournemouth, having beaten Manchester City the week before.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to MOTD: "A little bit of mixed feelings. We could have won the game with enough chances but also credit to their goalkeeper.

"In the end we have to accept the draw, if you don't score you don't lose. But I think at the end we had to get a penalty. It was a clear penalty but we have to accept it.

"I really liked the desire to win the game at the end. Still unbeaten after four games it is OK.

"Yes we are not really delighted today but we accept it, we feel we are on the right track. We are always creating the chances.

"If we stay patient the goals will come."

On late penalty appeal for Uche: "The VAR must have told the referee that the Sunderland player didn't touch him but for me when I see the pictures it looks like he touches him."

Lucas Bergvall lofts a long throw into the West Ham box but the hosts are able to clear to safety.

Newcastle United

Newcastle matchwinner Nick Woltemade speaking on BBC Final Score: "It felt amazing, just all the fans, everybody was happy, I was happy. Of course, right now if you've won the game that's more important also. I'm very happy about it."

On how he's settling in to Newcastle and the league: "The Premier League is quite hard, I had to go out because I had cramps. For the first game I think it's OK to come in. It was amazing, the atmosphere, the team played really good balls, they involved me a lot. I think we did quite good. It was a hard game because we didn't win a game in the league before and it was really important that we won a game, especially a home game and we can look forward to the games."

On how hard it was after not winning in the league yet: "I was just here for four days now, so everything was new for me. I was putting that bit away and I was focusing on myself today. I think the coach already gave me such a good feeling, so I felt good on the pitch. I knew what to do and I guess you saw today everybody knew what they have to do. This win was really important."

On how different his role will be for Newcastle: "Hard to say after one game. I just try to play my game, like to drop off from the nine and come to where I can get the balls. The guys are already good today with me I want to play my game also here. Today was a good game for it but there could be games where it's hard. I want to adapt to this league, its really hard. I want to look forward and keep going."

Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery, speaking to Sky Sports: "Good evening, it is a good point. A lot of things positive. Firstly, the goalkeeper, Martinez did a fantastic job.

"He saved us a lot of times.

"We were defending with the ball, we were being disciplined and organised.

"Then we have to improve offensively as we are not scoring goals, but with this point I am happy. We are building the team and getting confidence and getting emotions together. This point is necessary to keep going.

"Everton are performing very well. Of course, they are improving and we are building a team with circumstances that we have and recognising our positivity. Competing and feeling strong.

"We analysed the last match we played and we were not competing like we were today. Our identify today was on the field."

On lack of goals: "Tactically we have to try to help offensively to try to get better positions.

"To get more offensive situation, clarifying it a little bit, for the last pass and being clinical.

On Martinez: "His comeback is fantastic."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola speaking to BBC MOTD: "Very happy with the win because we value this win against a very good team. The game went some moments for us, for them. It was not clear what was going to happen at the end."

On Alex Scott's goal: "Alex has a very good right foot but it was a lovely finish. I am happy for him and the two players who made their debut [Veljko Milosavljevic and Alex Jiminez]. Difficult to play first game against Brighton and they did very well."

On Veljko Milosavljevic: "It was a difficult position because we like what we saw but he has played with us just three days. He has the rhythm and he comes in good form. Everything went well with him."

On strong start tot season: "It's a good start, its a good amount of points but still we have our moment's We will make mistakes. We need to build still. Everyone is getting more minutes but every game is costing us a lot. We are managing well but if we don't keep the focus these small details can go the other way. We have to stay humble."

Sunderland

Sunderland boss Régis Le Bris, speaking to MOTD: "This is a really strong place to visit and we did well in the first half, we dominated the ball without many threats.

"In the second half they pushed, that is normal at home but we showed good character and resilience.

"Probably we didn't push enough to create chances. That is probably the next layer of the game.

"You never know but the connection so far is really positive. The players want to work together and enjoy being together. You have to improve every day.

On the performance of goalkeeper Robin Roefs: "He is a really good goalkeeper. We need good players in the squad to be efficient and he had a good game today.

Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe told BBC Sport: "I thought we played pretty well after the first five minutes. The fact we haven't won a game puts more pressure on you in the latter stages.

"The win was all that mattered but we'd love to win in a better style and score more goals. We're defending well as a team.

"It was great to see Nick score on his debut. Very strong, I was very pleased with him. Tactically he understood what we wanted. It was a shift for him, he had cramp at the end. He took his goal brilliantly.

"I didn't see much wrong with the team performance at all. I was really pleased with the commitment of the players."

On whether Woltemade and Yoane Wissa can play together: "It's something we can do and we'll look at. I don't know if we want to change the tactical framework too much but I'll never rule anything out."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth goalscorer Antoine Semenyo to BBC MOTD: "We hadn't beat them in a while so we took it to them and we done that today. It got ugly but we saw it out.

"It was pretty ugly. The manager said at half-time to get stuck in, it's going to get ugly."

On becoming the new penalty taker: "We'll have to wait and see. If Justin [Kluivert] is on he pitch he will probably take them."

On Bournemouth's strong start to the season: "The mood in the camp is perfect. We can't ask for any more, we just have to keep going."

On teenager Veljko Milosavljevic making his debut: "He was solid, did everything right. A great start for him and many more to come.

On his shove on Maxim De Cuyper: "It was body to body, I didn't mean tot push him into the advertising. I hope he's alright but it was a 50-50 challenge."

I think given the fact Brighton won against Man City last week, you think as a footballing naivety you have a good performance one week and you think you can carry it into the next.

Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be for them today. I think it was a good game. Fabian Hurzeler is right to be disappointed because he expected more from his team and he feels a decision didn't go his way.

Everton

Everton defender Michael Keane, speaking to BBC MOTD: "I thought we were really good and got on the front foot, and we made it tough for Villa. On another day, it is a game we win. It didn't quite happen for us. The performance was really good and one to be happy with."

On his headers: "The first one is not an easy one and the second one is a great save from the keeper. On another day I am sure I could have scored one or two.

"They have some really good players – the way we defended as a whole team was really good. We pressed them really well - I'm sure they will go home thinking they had a really tough afternoon."

On Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye: "We have got to get the ball to them as much as we can. They're our dangermen. We are lucky to have them, and we need them to keep playing the way they are."

Newcastle United

Fulham

Fulham manager Marco Silva, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Definitely a tight game, very difficult in some moments to break them down.

"You felt straightaway the changes that Daniel made to his team were to be much more conservative out wide, control better our left-hand side - and they did it.

"With good organisation it is not easy to break them down. In the first half, we were probably too slow. We did not take too many risks and we were too slow, then it is difficult to break them down. They had one good shot from a second ball.

"I think second half we were much better, more dynamic. In these moments, you can have a bit of fatigue and in the last 30 minutes we did create some dangerous moments around their box. Great header from Rodrigo, we should have scored.

"An own goal in the last minute of the game so we have to feel a bit fortunate. A nice feeling for us, a difficult feeling for Daniel and the Leeds boys but that is part of the game.

"It was important for us to keep a clean sheet because we need to create this habit and it allowed us to go on and try to win the game."

On Kevin's debut from the bench: "Massive impact from him. I know him very well. When I pushed the board to go for him, he's a player I know. Still very young but already enough maturity. He was playing in different league, not a top five league, but in Champions League and you could see in moments the quality of the player.

"He's an exciting player and he has a profile that we don't have in our side. It's good to have competition and have players that can break down opposition teams.

"It is not about the speed, it's about the circumstances when you sign players on the last day of the market. If a player has a pre-season he has time to settle and understand what we want, if they arrive last day of the window it is going to take more time.

"He's a great talent and he's going to help us."

Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler speaking to Sky Sports: "The performance was quite good, we dominated the game, we had chances, we just made the wrong decisions. The small margins made the difference and we weren't at highest level."

On injuries at start of the game: "Not a brilliant start but we responded in a good way, kept on pushing. We faced a lot of adversity today."

On the shove to Maxim De Cuyper by Antoine Semenyo: "It shouldn't be like this and then we concede a goal with 10 men so I think it's not the right thing. Very unlucky but we have to accept it, that's football."

On conceding a penalty: "We win together, we lose together. We will analyse it and come back."

On whether Jack Hinshelwood's injury is serious: "I think it is. I'm not a doctor so we have to wait for the scan."

Sunderland

Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs, speaking to MOTD: "From the start we knew what we are capable of. We really fight as a team, we are really happy with our start and it is up to us to continue this.

"We are not just a team who wants to defend, we have some players who are really good with the ball.

"We showed we are really good fighting for each other."

Everton

"The second one I was holding my run hoping Jack [Grealish] would pull it back, which he did. On another day I would have scored - marginally it was not meant to be today.

"I thought we played well today. I thought we were a threat going forward. Sometimes it happens. I thought we had enough chances to win the game."

"We need to try to make this a fortress as quickly as possible. The club is definitely going in the right place."
