Speaking on Radio 5 Live Breakfast, Newcastle fan Kendal Rowan described the Magpies' current situation as "worrying" due to their "makeshift backline".
Newcastle have conceded 61 shots in five games from inside the penalty area. Rowan agreed that's a cause for concern in today's early kick-off.
"We haven't played well at all this season, even though we have been getting results," she told 5 Live Breakfast.
She added that this season Newcastle have struggled to start games well - even at their "fortress," St James' Park.
"It's somewhere that we feel confident playing usually- that's not been the case."

It feels a bit bizarre to think of Newcastle struggling.
Eddie Howe's side are sixth in the Premier League and have been beaten just once, at Fulham last weekend.
Yet Howe accepts the wider view that his team just hasn't been playing that well, even if he puts a positive spin on the situation.
"Overall, we've made a positive start to the season," he said in today's match programme.
"While I don't feel we've hit our best levels yet, importantly we've still found a way to win matches, and shown plenty of character and spirit to respond well when we've needed to."

Everton boss Sean Dyche definitely needs a good result, and I am slightly worried about the atmosphere at Goodison Park if it turns ugly for whatever reason, and how the players handle that.
I keep going for Everton home wins, and being wrong, so I am not making that mistake again. They keep taking the lead but it feels like they need to get Jarrad Branthwaite fit again if they are going to hold out.
I actually fancy Everton here but without Branthwaite at the back I am not so sure they have got a clean sheet in them and, on that basis, I am going to say Palace will get a point.

We still have six teams without a victory, and with pressure beginning to build as October approaches.
That includes the three promoted clubs, bottom side Wolves, and Everton and Crystal Palace who meet at Goodison Park in an important game this afternoon.

Personal favourite moment of winding up is when Villa played United. United were awarded a penalty and Emi Martinez proceeded to wind up Bruno Fernandes (the designated taker) by giving the ball to Ronaldo instead, saying he obviously should be the one to take the penalty instead! Martinez then saved Fernandes effort. No one winds them up better!

What happened after the game at the Etihad, with Erling Haaland and then Bernardo Silva perhaps being a bit salty, that shows how serious City are taking Arsenal and how much they see them as a genuine threat.

Reigning champions Manchester City lead the way after their last-gasp equaliser against 10-man Arsenal last Sunday, but a tight top six is separated by just three points at this early stage.
Which means, Newcastle United have the opportunity to move level on points with City in today's afternoon kick-off - if they can get the better of Pep Guardiola's side, who are aiming to move four points ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Winger Anthony Gordon, speaking to TNT Sports, has confirmed that a new contract agreement is "close".
"It's close. I am really excited. I will focus on that when it comes to it but I am really excited about today and just want to focus on that today," Gordon said.
About a potential flag display dedicated to him today: "It means a lot. I have got great relationship with the fans here because my style resonates with them. It is a working-class city and they want to see you trying. I am proud of myself for doing that.
"It doesn't matter to me where I am going to play. The game is about moments so it's about handling moments when they come to me. If that's left-wing right-wing, or sticker."
On wanting to get back to winning ways: "We have responded well in training. We got to react to that result and training was really intense. We are in a really good place going into today."

The issue is now that there are cameras everywhere and you can't get away with what we used to do. Holding from corners, stepping on people's toes. There were things going on in the tunnel before the game and that doesn't really happen anymore.

Tactically, Man City will be slightly different because when Lewis goes in there for right-back it's when the moments arise.
The difference for him playing there from the start means he has to anticipate. Rodri had a sixth sense for that. I think he can do it but it will be interesting.

City boss Pep Guardiola says he's been provoked into a more intense rivalry with Arsenal following the Premier League clash at Etihad Stadium last weekend, after which City's John Stones and Kyle Walker said the Gunners used the "dark arts" while trying to protect their 2-1 half-time lead.
Speaking on Friday, Guardiola said: "You want a war? Now we war.
"Gabriel said it perfectly in the press after the match, so this is a war. We have to provoke the opponent, to push them, and at the end, what can you do? You provoke me, OK, I'm there."
Only five games in, but things are heating up nicely...

Pep Guardiola said Rodri was "irreplaceable" during last season's title run-in, in which City pipped Arsenal to win their fourth consecutive league title.
Rodri missed five games last season. City lost four of them.
Since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2019, City have lost just 11% of the matches in which Rodri has featured, compared with 24% without the Spaniard.
Guardiola said the club will assess the "potential problems" caused by Rodri's absence before deciding whether to sign a new midfielder in the January transfer window.

Eddie Howe said he would make a late decision on Isak this week, after the striker broke his toe.
The Swedish forward has started all five of Newcastle's league games so far, scoring once.
"It sounds worse than it is, but he's got a broken toe, but it's one that can be managed and played with providing he can tolerate the pain levels, and that will have no long-term risks.
"He had an injection to numb the toe last week and that was fine until the injection wore off."

Wolves have lost more Premier League games against Liverpool than they have vs any other opponent (16). They’ve lost 14 of their last 15 against the Reds in the league, with the exception being a 3-0 home win in February 2023.
Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in 65% of their Premier League games against Wolves (13/20), the second-highest rate of any side to have faced another 20+ times in the competition, after Chelsea against Middlesbrough (67% - 20/30).
