  2. 'First time my team has been competitive in Europe'published at 22:51 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

Rangers boss Danny Rohl: "I think it’s disappointing but I look at the first 60 minutes. It was the first time I felt my team has been competitive in Europe. I think it’s a step forward. But in the end we have to win and close the gaps.

"In the second half I felt we controlled the game. And then it’s one moment, we made one mistake and conceded a goal. This goal looks very cheap. I’m not looking for excuses in this case. I know in the second half the wind gave a lot of problems.

"We have to improve to play 90 minutes at our highest level.

"You can see the table. We didn’t lose the opportunity just today. It's about the past four games as well. I’ve been here for four weeks and for 60 minutes I see a big difference.

"Today I really see the progress in our team performance. There is no question mark that it goes in the right direction. In European competition you cannot make many mistakes and this is something we have to work on.

"For me it's not about the character of the group when I see how hard they work since I'm here, how much effort they put in. There is of course pressure, there is expectation, you have to deliver.

"I will help them. I try always to be positive because I know the self-confidence of a player is such an important thing. If a player has confidence they will make the right decisions in the right moments."

  3. 'O'Neill's still got it'published at 22:46 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Feyenoord 1-3 Celtic

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer on Sportsound

I can understand [Celtic] wanting to look to the future, but maybe the obvious solution is staring them in the face.

With the group of players that was really struggling in the latter weeks and months of Brendan Rodgers' reign, [O'Neill's] got a big win on the road in Europe on the big stage. They don't do that very often. And he's done it on his second attempt.

It just shows you the magnetism of the man. Even though he's 73 and he hasn't done it for a number of years, he's still got it.

Celtic interim boss Martin O'Neill: "We played really well. There was a period in the game where we were totally dominant, controlling the ball and exuding a lot of confidence, which was lovely to see.

"Obviously going a goal behind, we could have crumbled. We showed character and resilience and then when we got the equaliser, the confidence flooded into the side.

"I said to the players before the game 'you will get a chance to play tonight'. We took that chance.

"I'm obviously thrilled for the team, there's a bit of selfishness attached to it all too. To win away from home is terrific.

"Judging from last season, the format, you are looking for 10 or 11 points to qualify. It won't be easy, but Celtic have two home games and the confidence is in the side now.

"I told my two brothers who came to the game to start my chant, so they must have done so. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts. In the dressing room, the lads are full of it.

"It's hard to say what I thought [when I took charge]. My two daughters were all in on going for it, but my wife said I would probably mess it up. I haven't messed it up so far. It's been great. The results are what you live by and they've been terrific.

"[The new manager] has got some players who are big winners, which is great. I'm sure he will lean on some of those lads and then it's about improving some of the other players.

"The restoration of confidence is big and it's keeping it going after that.

"Winning away from home is terrific - it's not easy away from home in Europe. It gives them belief that they can come and compete."

    FT: Feyenoord 1-3 Celtic

Celtic were the only Scottish side to claim three points tonight, with a big win at Feyenoord.

It was their first away win in Europe since November 2021 against Ferencvaros.

It was also their first away win in the Netherlands since 2001 when Martin O'Neill was first in charge, beating Ajax in Champions League qualifying.

Let's remind ourselves of what the Celtic interim boss said...

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

James Tavernier struck his 12th goal for Rangers across major European competition in tonight's draw, joining Ally McCoist as the club's joint-third all-time top goalscorer.

Meanwhile, only Bruno Fernandes (12) has scored more penalties (excluding shootouts) across Europa League history than Tavernier (eight), with the Englishman enjoying an 88.9% conversion rate from the spot in this competition.

  9. '100% feels like progress' - Rohlpublished at 22:27 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

Danny Rohl has just told TNT Sports that tonight's result "100% feels like progress".

We'll have more from the Rangers boss when he speaks to the media shortly.

    Agree with that, Gers fans?

  10. What are Aberdeen's chances?published at 22:23 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Aberdeen 1-1 Noah

It's going to be a mission for Aberdeen to progress, too.

The Dons need to make up a three-point deficit and overtake a load of teams to get into the top 24 in the space of two matches.

Their final two games are real tough ones as well, home to Strasbourg and away to Sparta Prague.

  12. 'Feels like a defeat' - Tavernierpublished at 22:17 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

Rangers captain James Tavernier tells TNT Sports: "Feels like we lost the game because it was in our hands.

"Final third we have to be more patient, work it better instead of just shooting when it's not really on. It's a lapse in concentration for the [Braga] goal.

"It's a missed opportunity for us. We have to be more clinical in both boxes."

I believe [we're going in the right direction]. Boys are buying into [the manager's approach]. We have to build on this and learn from it."

  13. 'Not sure these players can do better'published at 22:14 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

My concern, and it's a big concern, is I'm not sure the team is capable of a lot better than that.

I really hope I'm wrong. I really hope I am.

You can't make mistakes like the goal they conceded. I'm not sure these players can take Rangers to the next level. There's an awful lot of work to be done.

  14. As they standpublished at 22:10 GMT 27 November 2025

    FT: Rangers 1-1 Braga

Yep, as Martin says, this looks a tall, tall order for Rangers.

They need to be, at worst, 24th to progress. They are five points off that with three games to go.

    Their final three matches:

    • Ferencvaros v Rangers
    • Rangers v Ludogorets
    • Porto v Rangers

    FT Rangers 1-1 Braga

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

Rangers will be kicking themselves. From a position of strength, a goal and man up, they somehow contrived to throw away victory.

Nasser Djiga's slackness for the equaliser was so poor. Just when Rangers looked likely to go on and keep slim hopes of Europa League progression alive. What a kick in the teeth.

Advancing from this position with just a point from five games would seem near impossible now and it's down to that familiar problem. Defensive frailty costing them.

Alan Hutton has just suggested it will take a while to fix Rangers' issues.

Hard to disagree. Their vulnerability doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Nasser Djiga is doing a lot of apologising to the Rangers fans who are left as the players do a lap of the pitch.

Not a great night again for the defender.

  18. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 1-1 Noahpublished at 22:01 GMT 27 November 2025

Aberdeen's hopes of European progression were all but ended with a disappointing draw against unheralded Armenian side FC Noah in the Conference League.

After four games the Scottish Cup winners have just two points and their final two matches come against pre-tournament favourites Strasbourg and Czech side Sparta Prague.

This was arguably their best chance for a crucial three points and Jimmy Thelin acknowledged as much pre-match, calling it a "must-win" game.

At the half-time whistle, the victory looked on. At the end of a forgettable first-half, Kevin Nisbet swivelled and fired Aberdeen into the lead after hard work from Topi Keskinen set up the chance.

    That did not last long.

Noah had barely threatened in the opening stages but they enjoyed large spells in the second half after scoring quickly through Nardin Mulahusejnovic's fantastic header.

A poor result for Rangers, despite this being their first Europa League point of the season, given they were ahead and playing against 10 men when Braga fought back to level.
