Villa are really applying some pressure now with Kirsty Hanson, Ebony Salmon and Chasity Grant looking increasingly dangerous.

Hanson's cut back is pushed out by Janina Leitzig and it takes a good challenge from Alisha Lehmann to stop the ball getting to Lucia Kendall in a good shooting position.

Ebony Salmon has had an excellent impact so far on this right-hand side for Aston Villa.

They were crying out for that in the first-half.

Swift Aston Villa counter-attack with Chasity Grant staring it with a strong run through the middle before finding Kirsty Hanson.

She moves into the box and there is a bit of a coming together with the defender, Hanson tries to keep her feet but eventually stumbles to the ground.

Penalty? No chance, says the referee.

I think it's a fair challenge by Chasity Grant - she uses her body well.

Some physical play from Chasity Grant to win a corner with a classic shoulder barge on Julie Thibaud.

The Leicester player doesn't seem too fussed but the crowd don't like it.

Referee Stacey Pearson might be glad the corner comes to nothing to avoid any further controversy over that call.

Ebony Salmon has been very lively in the first 10 minutes since she's come on.

I think Leicester have got to draw on those positive experiences from the first half when they were the better side. They did create opportunities and scored a goal.

Nothing comes from that one. Massively overhit by Lynn Wilms this time and the ball sails over everyone and out for a goal kick.

This has been much more like it from Villa since half-time. The intensity that was lacking for much of the first 45 minutes is there and they've won another corner.

Sharp move from Aston Villa with Ebony Salmon, who came on for Miri Taylor at half-time, driving through the middle.

Patten is wrestling with Tierney and just takes a touch with the outside of her right foot, directs it into goal.

It's a really good bit of footwork from Patten.

Leicester aren't the only side doing all they can to avoid the relegation/ promotion play-off. The same goes for both Crystal Palace and Newcastle in WSL2 - albeit for very different reasons.

They find themselves third and fourth, respectively, in the table with Palace just a point behind Birmingham in the second automatic promotion spot, and Newcastle a further point back.

With leaders Charlton now nine points clear, it look like a three-way battle for second with one team having to settle for the play-off place and the other missing out completely.

Palace host Newcastle at 17:00 GMT today, and with all four games remaining after this one, it is a match that could go a long way to deciding the final outcome in this incredibly tight promotion battle.

Newcastle should be confident having beaten Birmingham 2-0 in midweek.

Leicester just looked up for it, ready for it and put Aston Villa on the back foot which I think they needed to.

They were just front-footed, aggressive, confident and I thought it really stifled Aston Villa at times.

Aston Villa have dominated possession but Leicester are well on top in every other category...
