    Portsmouth 0-0 Millwall

A whopping five changes for Portsmouth including a return for goalkeeper Nicolas Schmid.

Adrian Segecic, Florian Bianchini, Mark Kosznovszky and Zak Swanson also start.

Ibane Bowat and Luke Le Roux miss out while Josef Bursik, Jordan Williams and Conor Chaplin are on the bench.

Millwall have Dan McNamara back from injury and straight into their starting line-up.

Alfie Doughty and Macaulay Langstaff also start with skipper Jake Cooper suspended and Camiel Neghli and Aidomo Emakhu among the substitutes.

And we are now up and running in most games across the land!

We were spoiled for goals and drama in the early kick-offs. Can the rest of the afternoon's offerings deliver the same?

Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho - we just need a win

A quick quick quiz question for you - after Coventry (75) which team has accrued the most Championship points in 2025?

If you said Millwall (62) then pop a gold one on your star chart and go to the top of the class.

Only Stoke and Coventry started this weekend with more than the Lions' 12 points on the road so far this season and they have only lost one of their past seven outings - impressive stuff isn't it?

Alex Neil's side head to Fratton Park looking for a club-record third successive league win at Portsmouth.

Pompey's solid start to the season is disappearing in the rear-view mirror with the signposts marked 'trouble' hoving into sight.

Their paltry return of 12 league goals is 'beaten' only by Sheffield United's 11 and a six-game winless run featuring four defeats has brows rapidly furrowing, not least that of boss John Mousinho who still has credit in the bank but another loss might see him dipping into the overdraft...

  4. Can Wrexham do East Anglian double?published at 14:54 GMT 22 November 2025

    Ipswich v Wrexham (15:00 GMT)

    Marc Webber
    BBC Final Score

These two sides have never met each other in the league and never met at Portman Road.

Former Tractor Boy Nathan Broadhead is on the Wrexham bench, no Kieffer Moore for a return to his once-loaned club.

Wrexham are looking to be unbeaten in four games today, and do the East Anglian double after beating Norwich earlier in the season.

Ipswich have only lost one in eight home league games this season.

  5. Middlesbrough made to wait for new dawnpublished at 14:53 GMT 22 November 2025

    Oxford v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

    Adam Whitty
    BBC Final Score

It's wet, windy and cold at the Kassam but do not fear, my spirits are high.

That's because this is a match between two sides hoping for a reset. Middlesbrough have Kim Hellberg waiting in the wings to take over, with Adi Viveash taking over for (probably) one last time.

He managed to galvanise his team in their win against Birmingham - and will hope to leave his side nipping at Coventry's heels at the top of the Championship.

Oxford, to paraphrase Gary Rowett, have been neither here nor there. Neither scrappy underdog or mid-table stalwart. Complacency has seemingly set in - and they have just one win in five. He wants his side to rediscover their sense of fight.

    Oxford v Middlesbrough (15:00 GMT)

Keeping up with Coventry is hard enough, but when your manager walks out after leading you to your best start to a season Middlesbrough fans might be forgiven for thinking how cruel the football gods can be.

With Rob Edwards joining Wolves, Adi Viveash has been keeping the seat warm - leading them to a win over Birmingham before the timely intervention of the international break.

Hammarby boss Kim Hellberg is set to take over, with many eyes no doubt being cast towards the Kassam Stadium stands today to see if he's sneaking a look at his new charges.

In the meantime, Viveash will run the show as Boro seek a fifth win in six trips to Oxford.

Gary Rowett's U's aren't exactly hitting the high spots at the moment - successive defeats have them hovering perilously just three points clear of the relegation zone - with their last win a rather unconvincing 2-1 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.

    QPR v Hull (15:00 GMT)

    Media caption,

Queens Park Rangers are in a bit of a rut, losing three straight games before finally picking up a single point last time out in a goalless encounter with Sheffield United.

One contributing factor - their scoring boots appear to have deserted them. The Hoops have not scored more than one goal in a match since their 2-1 victory over Bristol City on 4 October.

Since then, the R's have scored four goals across their next six matches while visitors Hull City have managed 12 in that time.

The Tigers are flying - sixth in the table and could climb as high as third this afternoon.

But for QPR, boss Julien Stephan has put all his focus on set-pieces that the R's have yet to nail.

"The last run was not a good run but it's important to stay focused on what we need to do to have a good run in the next weeks and months," Stephan told BBC Radio London.

"It's not that we did everything wrong, some things we did well, sometimes we were just unlucky, but a very important part in the Championship is to develop our ability to create something from set pieces.

"Offensively and defensively we have spent time on it - we know it's very important."

  9. First ever league meetingpublished at 14:45 GMT 22 November 2025

Ipswich Town v Wrexham (15:00 GMT)

Sir Bobby Robson statueImage source, Shutterstock

With Wrexham's 15-year absence from the EFL and now a first appearance in the second tier since 1982 there is a lot of new ground being broken this season and here's another one for the record books.

This is the first league meeting between Ipswich Town and Wrexham, no, that's it, this is the first meeting, end of sentence.

Their only previous experience of each other is an FA Cup third-round tie in 1995 when Ipswich, then of the Premier League, lost to the Welshmen who were in what we now call League One.

That should be enough to make this of interest but when you throw in Kieran McKenna's side have only lost one of their previous 29 home games in the Championship and no one in the division since matchday six has lost fewer games than Wrexham (1), you have a game worth watching.

As a player, John Eustace twice left Watford for Derby County.

Now as Rams boss he leads the in-form Rams up against his former side - and one that helped set him on his path to coaching.

During his pre-match press conference this week I asked him to reflect on that journey... and well, we took a few detours with talk of growing long hair for superstitious reasons and laughed off the rumour that he first arrived at the Rams from Watford on loan driving a soft-top Bentley...

  11. Clement to begin writing his Canaries fairytale?published at 14:39 GMT 22 November 2025

    Birmingham v Norwich (15:00 GMT)

    Media caption,

Norwich City's new head coach Philippe Clement talks to the press for the first time.

Will new boss Philippe Clement be able to save Norwich City from relegation?

The Belgian will have to start the Canaries reboot against a formidable foe, Birmingham City at their beloved St Andrew's ground.

Only once have Blues been bested on home soil this season (you can include last season in that too!) while Norwich have only won two of their 15 games in 2025-26.

But the former Rangers boss could be a big coup for Norwich - the club have done some mighty selling of a fairytale that maybe Clement might just pull off should things go his way.

"I think two weeks ago I wouldn't have [taken the job]. After some good talks I realised that we are really aligned in our thinking," Clement told BBC Radio Norfolk.

"By the end of our talks I saw there is much more potential in the club than they are currently showing.

"It's like writing a book, we are only on the first few pages. We have a lot still to write."

  12. Promotion still the aim for Leicester - Begovicpublished at 14:36 GMT 22 November 2025

    Leicester v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic insists promotion remains Leicester City's target this season, despite the Foxes' stuttered start to the campaign and looming threat of a points deduction.

Leicester beat Norwich City before the international break to end a five-game winless run.

And now, as the 12th-placed Foxes prepare to host third-placed Stoke on Saturday, the club is also readying itself for legal battle over spending rules and alleged breaches made when the club was promoted to the Premier League as Championship title winners in 2024.

That hearing is reportedly set to begin within days.

Begovic said the issue is for "people above my paygrade to handle", but "the noise" around what it could mean to the club's ambitions is something players need to deal with.

The players, he insists, are focused only on results on the pitch.

"We have to make sure that we are together, we keep believing and keep working hard," Begovic told BBC East Midlands Today.

And when asked if promotion remains the aim, the former Chelsea, Stoke, Bournemouth and Everton goalkeeper said: "Absolutely.

"There is still everything to play for," he continued. "There's still 31 games, so we will make sure that we put in those performances, take it a game at a time and hopefully put a string of wins together and then I think we will be where we need to be."

43 goals scored, 15 conceded, one defeat in their opening 16 matches.

It's hard to remember a more dominant start to a season from a Championship side.

Impressive stuff from Frank Lampard's men.

  16. 'Another brilliant result and a brilliant comeback'published at 14:28 GMT 22 November 2025

    FT: Coventry 3-2 West Brom

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

First and foremost another brilliant result and a brilliant comeback, you almost expect it at this point, another three goals as well, this team just keeps scoring.

You can't afford to give teams two goal head starts and I think the game hinged on the sending off, West Brom were good before that, Coventry sensed that it knocked the wind out the sails and took it to them.

A very entertaining game, not everything was perfect, a lot was, but they have to make sure they're solid moving forwards.

Five first-half goals - including four in eight minutes - from Southampton delivers a third successive victory for interim Saints boss Tonda Eckert.

Charlton simply couldn't handle the visitors in the first 45 minutes.

Ryan Manning opened the scoring in the 14th minute, then Adam Armstrong grabbed one and went on to set up two more before the break.

Finn Azaz, who got two goals, and Casper Jander were both teed up by Armstrong in this five-star win.

    Coventry 3-2 West Brom

    Coventry celebrateImage source, Shutterstock

The leaders go eight points clear with a thrilling fightback after going 2-0 down.

An Aune Heggebo double had the visitors seemingly in control even though Victor Torp had hit the bar for Coventry, before Josh Eccles headed home just before the break to reduce the arrears.

But the game completely changed five minutes after the break when Jayson Molumby, already on a yellow card, pulled back his man on the halfway line and was dismissed for a second caution.

Within 11 minutes Coventry were ahead through an Ellis Simms header and Torp's volley.

Josh Griffiths in the West Brom goal kept his side just about in the match but after being reduced to 10 men they never threatened an equaliser.

Coventry maintain their unbeaten home record and set us up for a tasty midweek trip to Middlesbrough while it's a fourth defeat in six outings for the Baggies.

  20. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:23 GMT 22 November 2025

    Bristol City 3-0 Swansea

A comfortable win for the Robins sees them back in the top six.

Swansea did put in a better performance in the second-half but turned off when Bristol City substitute Yu Hirakawa barged forward on the counter and sought out the left corner for a third, decisive goal.

It'll have patrons of Ashton Gate feeling much more settled to see their three match winless streak come to an end.

The incoming Swans boss probably not as comforted by what's he seen.
