Motherwell beat Celtic 2-0 at Fir Park in their last meeting in December and only lost on their last visit to Celtic Park 3-2 in October courtesy of a last-minute goal from Daizen Maeda.

Former Gothenburg head coach Jens Berthel Askou has been much lauded for his tactical nous and playing style since taking over last summer, so much so that he has been touted as the man to take over at Celtic at the end of the season.

However, he has his work cut out to restore their title challenge after their nine-game unbeaten league run was ended away to Dundee and they missed a chance to move to within a point of third-top Rangers - and two of Celtic.

Are games running out for Hearts' title challengers with just nine rounds of games left? At least one of them will have dropped points after today's meeting of second against fourth at Celtic Park.

Aberdeen head coach Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It's been a whirlwind 48 hours. We've only really had one proper session with the boys.

"We're hoping for a little reaction and we've made the game simple, tried to simplify the things they were doing and the things that were causing them problems.

"They lost the ball a lot playing out from the back, so we're trying to play the ball in the opposition half, trying to deliver more balls in the box. Sometimes people try and complicate football a lot.

"It's a huge football club. The opportunity arose. I loved my time at St Mirren, got nothing but super memories, but when a job like Aberdeen comes up, it's very difficult to turn that down."

Celtic interim manager Martin O'Neill tell BBC Scotland: "The stakes are high and they have been for quite a number of weeks. It’s two teams who still feel they have a chance of the title, so it should be very, very open with Motherwell playing a very attractive style of football.

"We’re looking forward to it.

"Any manager will tell you that you have to try and impose your own game on teams. That’s been difficult for us, but we have to find a way to do it.

"What I’ve liked about the team is that they have shown great resilience, like last Sunday, the fourth game in 10 days. They could have gotten really tired, especially in extra time, but they had that ‘never say die’ attitude in the game.

"There was an excuse for that last week with Rangers pushing us back, them being at home and like our fourth game in 10 days, but now we’ve had a couple of days to recuperate, we will go for it with a bit of gusto, with everything we can, and see what happens."

It was confirmed this week that Martin Boyle will be saying his goodbyes at Hibs come the end of the season.

If the 32-year-old Australia forward gets off the bench today, he is sure to get a good reception in what will be his 399th appearance for the Easter Road club.

Eight of his 108 Hibs goals have come against Livingston and one of his best was an absolute screamer at home to the West Lothian side in 2016.
