Tanto Olaofe was gifted his first goal for Lincoln City as the revamped Championship side overcome 10-man Blackpool in the Carabao Cup at Bloomfield Road.

Olaofe was brought in as one of 11 changes the Imps made after being beaten 3-1 by Portsmouth on Saturday, and he made a big impression on his first start for the club.

Latching on to a weak attempted back pass from Hayden Coulson, he cooly beat goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell for the opener.

Leighton Clarkson bent home a fine free-kick from the edge of the area to equalise before the break, but the game was ended as a contest soon after Zac Ashworth was sent off for a second yellow card in the 52nd minute.

Two goals in two minutes after that from Tom Bayliss and Rob Street ensured the Imps cruised into the third round, with the ultimately resounding victory completed by a volleyed finish from Callum Elder.

Blackpool boss Ian Evatt tweaked his side with four changes after Saturday's win at Stockport and they looked the more settled of the two sides early on.

Lincoln's head coach double act of Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw went with a new-look Imps line-up after back-to-back defeats to start the Championship season, and brought record-signing Andrei Coubis in to start for the first time while a trio of loanee debutants were also included.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Joe Gauci was one of them, and did well when first tested by Tom Bloxham in the 24th minute.

It was against the run of play and harsh on Blackpool when Olaofe pounced for his first Imps goal by punishing the hosts for misplaced pass from Coulson.

Street twice threatened to double Lincoln's advantage before Clarkson levelled with his brilliantly taken free-kick.

Blackpool's hopes of upstaging the Championship side crumbled when Ashworth found himself in the book again and was given his marching orders for his foul on Olaofe.

Bayliss finished a well-worked training ground set-piece from the ensuing free-kick on the edge of the area, before Street made it 3-1 with a near-post header from a corner.

Elder then met a cross from Josh Honohan to complete the victory with a clinical finish.
