After winning promotion from League B, Craig Bellamy said his aim wasn’t for Wales just to be a good team, but “one of the top international teams”.

In the same breath, he admitted it might be an unrealistic goal but it gives you an insight into how ambitious the fiery former striker can be.

Just how far his side are away from that will be given a real examination in a group containing the holders Portugal while Norway looked highly impressive in World Cup qualifying and the Danes have a strong recent head-to-head record against Wales.

There was a grin from Pepe - who was in the 2016 Portugal team that broke Welsh hearts in the semi-final - as he drew out Wales. Bellamy and captain Ben Davies were a bit more straight-faced.

We'll have to wait for the mixed zone to get their thoughts.

  3. How do the Nations League fixtures and format work?published at 18:12 GMT 12 February

Between September and November, each team in the Nations League will face every other team in their group twice; once at home and once away.

In League A, the top two teams from each group will make the quarter-finals later in that campaign. A knockout tournament between those eight teams will then play out to determine the overall Nations League winner.

In Leagues B, C and D, each group winner will be promoted up one league.

The teams finishing bottom of their groups in Leagues A, B and C will be relegated down one league.

Very happy with the draw for Northern Ireland, all three opponents are very winnable at Windsor park and an away trip to Budapest will be lovely! The neutral ground for Ukraine match will help us too, Georgia away will be a tough one, but bring them all on!
