    Bodo/Glimt 2-0 Sporting CP

To understand just how remarkable Bodo’s Champions League run has been, consider this...Opta gave them only a 0.3% chance of reaching the first knockout round ahead of their penultimate league phase games against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid.

The fact that they are now 2-0 up in the first leg of the last 16 is almost unfathomable.

In the first half, it was the centre-midfield where City were overpowered. The game has passed them by so Tijjani Reijnders is the right move.

Real Madrid have not been exciting or played a certain way. They have had four shots on target and scored three and have simply been effective when they needed to.

    Paris St-Germain 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea keeper Filip Jorgensen, well out of his penalty area, shows remarkable coolness to nudge the ball away from Bradley Barcola and clear the danger. That could have gone spectacularly wrong.

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

In general play, Real have taken the game out wide whenever they can. They are without a traditional number nine tonight so they had to attack in a different way, but that has caused City's full-backs problems.

Now? City have to go for it. Something has to change. Maybe they will risk conceding more goals but they will know they can't leave the Bernabeu with this deficit.

You can hear more from Onuoha on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  17. 'Scoring in the last minute is a positive'published at 21:00 GMT 11 March

    FT: Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal's Noni Madueke: "We are confident we will get the job done in London. The manager said just go on and try and change the game.

"I don't really know what happened [for the penalty] I just know I felt contact, went down and penalty.

"Kai Havertz has been scoring high pressure penalties all his career, top composure to step up. Really pleased not just for him but the team as well.

"When you come on and your team is losing it gives you that extra impetuous to try and change it.

"When you score in the last minute to draw a game it is a positive thing. There are certain things we could have done better today and we know that.

"On the ball I felt we weren't as good as we can be today. It is things we will work on and show in London I am sure."

    FT: Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta: "The game had very different periods. We started quite well, had a massive chance with Martinelli who hits the crossbar. In those moments if you score the game changes completely and we had certain dominance but we didn’t finish enough actions and that allows certain counter attacks and they are quite dangerous with that.

“We wanted to start the second half strongly and it was the complete opposite, not paying attention on the kick-off, which we discussed before the match and then they have a clear header and then after they score and it’s game on and the tie changes.

“We had to stay emotionally composed and we improved in certain changes and had more possession and threat on the wings and we found a way back into the match.

“We knew they had certain routines and showed those images. We didn’t do it and we paid the price for it.

“Football has very funny and nice stories as well and it was very impressive the way [Kai Havertz] took the penalty. Obviously it was a big goal for us.

"We have to use the home advantage. The tie is 50/50 now. There is a lot to do. We are going to need our people to be at our best."

On Noni Madueke’s impact: “He was really good. He changed the rhythm, dynamic and threat and had a big impact on the result."

Manchester City have been caught out here. They have played an attacking side, expecting an open game. Real have defended deep and looked to break. This low block is impossible to penetrate for City and every time they give the ball away, Real have a dangerous attack.
