The frenetic pace of this game continues.

Swansea have dragged themselves level, but they continue to look far too open defensively.

For the moment at least, Middlesbrough look much more likely to score the next goal.

Felt good about this game in the opening few minutes and it's playing out that way so far.

Unusually, Swansea have started this game with Liam Cullen on the right flank, although he has spent much of his time in a more central position in the early stages.

As a result, the hosts are a little lop-sided when they have possession - while right-back Sam Parker has looked isolated defensively.

That is hardly ideal given that youngster Parker is making his first appearance since August, and a first league start since January 2024.

And sure enough, a loose Parker touch left Boro with the time and space to carve out their opening goal.

Middlesbrough waste a good crossing opportunity and then Aiden Morris passes the ball straight out of play under not a huge amount of pressure.

Moments later Swansea goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux also passes the ball out of play.

Boro play the first corner short and Zan Vipotnik deflects the cross in out for a second corner ball.

The second ball into the middle is powered away by a Swansea head.

The home side go on their first foray forward and keep the pressure on after the first cross in is cleared.

Boro break away though and win the game's first corner.

Kim Hellberg might have been in the home dugout at the Swansea.com Stadium this evening.

Having considered appointing Hellberg last spring, Swansea City made him their top managerial target after Alan Sheehan's exit last November - but the Swede opted instead to succeed Rob Edwards at Middlesbrough.

Since then, Hellberg has kept Boro firmly in contention for promotion, though they are in need of a result with the finishing line in sight.

The Teessiders have much more to play for than their opponents, but Swansea have been a tough nut to crack on their own ground under Vitor Matos, the man who took charge after Hellberg chose the Riverside.

Swansea City boss Vitor Matos has made four changes to the team that started the 3-3 draw at Sheffield United on Friday. In come Eom Ji-Sung, who scored the late leveller at Brammall Lane, Jay Fulton Liam Cullen and Sam Parker. It's a first league start for the Swans in over two years for 19-year-old Parker.

Middlesbrough make two alterations from the XI that started the 2-1 home defeat by Millwall on Friday. Goalscorer Dael Fry and left-back Matt Targett go out and in come Alex Bangura and Jeremy Sarmiento. The loss of on-loan Newcastle full-back Targett to injury is a real blow.

Middlesbrough's terribly timed run of four games without a win means they start this evening down in fourth place.

Second-placed Ipswich are just a point ahead but boast two games in hand on the Teessiders meaning you'd have to say they'll need to win today.

Swansea are down in 16th but do boast an excellent recent home record.

Can they put another dent in Kim Hellberg's side's hopes?

Don't go anywhere as we still have two more games to come in the Championship this evening.
