The Portsmouth fans are still furious with referee Josh Smith, jumping to their feet and chanting "off, off, off" for every foul that Oxford now commit.

The Oxford fans reply with chants of "that is embarrassing", Stan Mills is also getting booed every time he now touches the ball.

What was initially a positive and encouraged mood amongst the home fans has now become incredibly hostile.

Jamie Donley takes a fast throw-in to get Oxford moving but Terry Devlin not only intercepts the pass into the box, he also draws a foul from Will Lankshear to halt the attack.

That's probably who you would want that chance to fall to there, Gustavo Caballero for Pompey.

You'd be disappointed that they haven't made the net burst there, you'll struggle to get many better chances than that.

Tempers have already boiled following that red card though and not only is the delivery weak, the referee is punishing the home players for getting a little too handsy in the box.

The ball in from Stanley Mills is superb, curled pinpoint into the path of Will Lankshear.

It bounces off a Portsmouth man into Myles Peart-Harris, who gives it a whack but sees it cleared on the line before the whistle is blown for a goal kick.

The Fratton Park crowd have been absolutley stunned as the referee paused before showing Connor Ogilvie a red card.

The Oxford fans ironically wave Ogilvie off as the Portsmouth fans boo referee Josh Smith's decision.

Portsmouth react by taking off Conor Chaplin to introduce right-back Jordan Williams.

Big job for him this afternoon.

That is a massive decision by the referee in a game of this significance.

He has to be absolutely certain in a game like this.

It's not a good tackle, but he's hooked his foot around the ball at the same time he has hooked around the Oxford player, it's his right foot.

I mentioned a momentum change for Oxford and Connor Ogilvie might have just supplied it.

The Pompey left-back lands a heavy challenge on Stanley Mills.

The referee pulls out the red card, feeling the contact is too high for his liking. The majority of the crowd inside Fratton Park though, have other thoughts as the boos rain down.

Pompey are crawling all over Oxford now.

The stats are starting to fall heavily in the hosts favour, with 70.1% of the possession so far.

Given Oxford haven't scored in either of their past two attempts against Portsmouth, they will want to change this momentum swing and quick.

Fratton Park errupted when that went in, it was a lovely touch to beat the defender and then fire home.

Portsmouth have started well and had a couple of decent attacks, they've been the better side for me.

We can't say it's not been coming.

Pompey have been making headway, you think there's enough Oxford players to deal with it.

Keshi Anderson shows immense composure, more composure than anyone in the stadium, to strike it to the other side, Jamie Cumming gets a hand to it but the shot has too much power on it.

There was no composure in the Oxford defending, it was quite desperate.

Fratton Park goes wild as the home crowd believe their side have won themselves a penalty for handball.

No dice though.

Fratton Park is in tremendous voice during these opening moments in what's been a fast start to the game.

There has been surging attacks at both ends and the crowd are well up for this.

This result will have huge consequences at the bottom of the Championship table, both sides will be desperate to pick up three points today.
