Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at the City Ground

Porto are looking a bit rattled here. What Forest have got to do is make the pitch as big as possible so Porto have to do more running, and then the gaps will open. Be patient and tire them out.

Aston Villa 1-0 Bologna (4-1 agg)

The second time ex-Italy international Federico Bernardeschi has had an effort saved by Emiliano Martinez.

Villa are well on top right now. They surely have one foot, maybe a couple of toes of the other foot too, in the semi-finals.

  5. 'Absolutely perfect'published at 20:20 BST 16 April

Aston Villa 1-0 Bologna (4-1 agg)

    Lucy Ward
Former Leeds striker on TNT Sports

Such a brilliant goal, that was absolutely perfect. Emi Buendia to Morgan Rodgers and then what a cross, on a plate for Ollie Watkins.

It's a perfect reaction of what Unai Emery wants for his team.

Watkins in the right place in the right time, as he is in this system.

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

Omari Hutchinson whips the ball across the box but Dan Ndoye can't stoop to meet the header.

A second for Forest here would surely wrap this up.

Villa go close to getting a fifth on aggregate as Morgan Rogers' curling effort from the edge of the box is palmed around the post by the keeper.

  8. 'A tap in for Watkins'published at 20:20 BST 16 April

Aston Villa 1-0 Bologna (4-1 agg)

    Rachel Corsie
Former Scotland and Aston Villa captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

It looks simple for Aston Villa. Sometimes doing the basics well cuts teams apart, and that's exactly what's happened.

It's intricate play between Rogers and Buendia, Rogers plays it through the six yard box and it's a tap in for Watkins.

Ollie Watkins is now the outright top goalscorer in major European competition for Aston Villa with 10 goals, overtaking Peter Withe and John McGinn.

He is just the third Premier League player to score 100 goals in all competitions since his Aston Villa debut (15 September 2020) alongside Mohamed Salah (159) and Erling Haaland (157).

Fiorentina 0-0 Crystal Palace (0-3 agg)

Oliver Glasner will be pleased with these opening 15 minutes.

Palace have been pretty comfortable and have also had the game's best chance.

In addition, the home side have not been able to register an attempt on target.

  12. 'Wood is absolutely devastated'published at 20:18 BST 16 April

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at the City Ground

Sad for Wood. He is coming off by the goal with the fans giving him a huge ovation. He is absolutely devastated, you can see by his face. It's a very tender walk on that right leg.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:18 BST 16 April

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

Chris Wood makes way for Igor Jesus and that is so disappointing for the New Zealand striker.

Jesus has seven goals already in this competition, can he add to that tally?

    Ollie Watkins (16 mins)

    A brilliant team move.

Oh no. Chris Wood has gone down clutching his knee. Is he still feeling the effects of that Jan Bednarek challenge?

He looks really frustrated and you can actually see the mark from Bednarek's studs on his knee. You just wonder what the damage is underneath that.

Decent defending by Chris Richards who denies the home side a goalscoring opportunity.

In doing so he concedes the game's first corner.

Two attempts on target by the Italians so far but Dean Henderson has yet to be tested.

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

Morgan Gibbs-White immediately went to grab a shirt with Anderson's name on the back.

The midfielder's mother has sadly passed away and that's a lovely tribute from the Forest players.

  18. 'The skipper shows them the way'published at 20:14 BST 16 April

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Porto (2-1 agg)

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at the City Ground

The skipper Gibbs-White shows them the way. There has been a couple of chances. That is an amazing tribute for Elliot Anderson.

Porto had a bit of a warning, he had about 15 yards to run into, they backed off and when Gibbs-White has a chance to shoot, he shoots.

Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna (3-1 agg)

Not a lot happening here so Bologna's Federico Bernardeschi tries to make something happen himself.

Out of nowhere, he blasts in a shot from 30 yards out which Emiliano Martinez gathers at the second attempt.

Forentina 0-0 Crystal Palace (0-3 agg)

Questions were asked whether Crystal Palace would come to Tuscany and shut up shop and defend their first leg lead - or look to kill off the tie.

    Now we know the answer.

Palace have shown in the opening 10 minutes they are here to add to their aggregate lead.

The Premier League side are spraying it around with some confidence.
