Brennan Johnson has found his range now, that much is clear, and whips a wonderful cross in from the right which the stooping Ismaila Sarr stretches but can't quite get enough on to turn it home from the goalmouth and merely glances across the face of goal.

You feel Palace are finally building up a head of steam on this filthy evening, however.

AEK have conceded one goal in the competition this season, the fewest of any side in any UEFA competition.

The visitors centimeters away from the opening goal. Substitute Valdemar Andreasen, who has made a massive impact since coming on at half-time, curls an effort and it bounces off the crossbar. Matz Sels was diving, but I think he would've been beaten if the shot was just a bit lower.

Palace wanted a penalty for handball in the box as Angel Garcia leaned his body across to block a shot, but nothing doing, according to the officials.
