A comfortable win for Chelsea... Everton had a couple of opportunities but never looked like getting back into the game once it was 2-0.

Malo Gusto was the stand-out Chelsea player for me... not just in terms of the obvious with the goal and assist but also the questions he posed for Everton... linking up with Palmer and Neto down the right but also moving into midfield alongside James to create the extra man when needed.

Mo Salah has had a tough week. I'm sure he is sick to death about everyone talking about him.

Today, what he has done, he has answered it perfectly. He was unlucky not to score, but I thought he answered all of those questions.

That is the beauty of football. The next game is always an opportunity to put it right.

I suppose everybody will be leaving Anfield with that feeling of what's going to happen next with Mo Salah? Is he going to stay or is he going to go? But it's been a good week for Slot.

I don't think it was a goodbye. There were a couple of moments where we you thought 'was that a wave or not' but it just looked like he was applauding the fans like he does every week and as a lot of the other players did.

It's going to be interesting to see how this situation pans out. If you're a Liverpool fan you want to keep your best players so you'll be hoping it works out.

I think Brighton were wasteful but it feels like a really big win for Arne Slot with everything he's had to put up with - going away to Italy and beating Inter was a big result and then to back it up today. Liverpool strive for consistency this season and Hugo Ekitike was sensational once again.

There's a microscope on the football club. There has been a lot of talk around Liverpool and the response.

The actual interview has spurred Liverpool on and made them a tighter-knit group. A siege mentality in the changing room.

Two clean sheets on the bounce - that's vitally important. It is making sure that you know you're tough to beat.

Burnley boss Scott Parker: "The cold hard reality is along any season - or any journey in life - there's some bumps and some adversity. Maybe the modern day world has not allowed us to embrace that adversity.

Burnley have lost their last Premier League games.

They are on 10 points after 15 games, five from safety.

Ten of the 17 Premier League teams who have been on 10 points at this stage of a season have gone on to avoid relegation.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca to Sky Sports: "I'm happy. It's important to win games after two or three we didn't win. It's important for the players. We are happy.

"I think the reaction was good. The players want to win every game. Sometimes we struggle a little bit more, sometimes we are able to win the game. I think in this moment it was very important for the players to win the game."

On centre-backs Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana: "It's important they are both fit. It's important as well the players behind them are ready when we need them.

"We missed chances. You have to be clinical. The game is always open. But overall, I'm happy with the performance.

It is only December but this is a must-win for Burnley, in terms of confidence and also staying in touch with the teams above the relegation zone.

Look at Leeds at the moment and you can see they have got some confidence. Burnley are the opposite, after losing six games on the spin.

It is a big game for Fulham too, who are still in danger of being dragged into a relegation scrap.

For all their good play and excitement in pushing Manchester City and Crystal Palace close in the past few days, Marco Silva's side did not pick up any points.

So, it is vital they get something at Turf Moor, and I think they will. The obvious result is a draw and this time I am going to go with it.

Fulham's away form has been pretty poor but they do have some real quality in their team. Harry Wilson has been excellent for them this season, but while I don't see them losing this, I don't see them nicking it either.

Liverpool goalscorer Hugo Ekitike: "I wouldn't say it was perfect because I know I could score way more today. The most important was to win in front of our fans. It was a good day at work."

On his first goal: "The ball came quick. I tried to be ready. You don't expect to score in the first minute and I try to be always ready."

On his second goal: "He gave me a great ball, I just had to be in a good place. It was easy to finish.

"I was looking for the hat-trick but it is going to be another time. It was good, two goals. We try to stick together and work together. Today wasn't easy. We had to stay compact and stick together. I think we deserved it. We did a great week and let's continue.

"When you play for Liverpool, you just have to win games. We are Liverpool, we need to win."

Imagine the Chelsea headlines won’t focus on their central defenders, but that was a very strong display from Fofana and Chalobah.

Back-to-back Premier League clean sheets for Chelsea. Everton will say they weren’t ruthless enough, and there’s certainly some truth in that too.

"The most important thing tonight was the win, we know how important it is to defend properly in the Premier League and not concede."

On the performance of centre-backs Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah: "Of course, they are top defenders, it's great for us to see this type of performance. They are very strong at the back and that helps us to be as well. That's what we train every day. We played really well and I think the coach will be happy.

"After the last three games we didn't get the three points, so that was the main objective today."

Liverpool move up into the European places, while Brighton drop to ninth.

Chelsea break into the top four - and Everton go down to eighth.

Important three points for Slot. All the talk was about Salah before the match and if he would come on and he did come on but it's all about Hugo Ekitike.

Two goals, three points against a Brighton side who were wasteful on the day.

We keep hearing there's going to be talks between Salah and his advisors and Slot but Mo Salah's just got to apologise, hold his hands up and say 'I got it wrong' for this wonderful relationship between him and his club Liverpool to carry on.
