No player has scored more goals than Igor Jesus' seven in the Europa League this season, with his total now the outright-most for the club during a major European campaign, overtaking Gary Birtles’ six during the 1978-79 European Cup.

He might not get the chance to add to that tonight as he is named among the substitutes.

Continue playing as well as we did against Fenerbahce and Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest will be fine this season. We've heard this before though.

Vitor Pereira's arrival has given the side a lift, with his emphasis on identity - "the freedom to express themselves, to be happy and enjoy". And it's obvious that the dominance the Reds showed in Istanbul, and certainly in the first half on Sunday, demonstrated this identity.

However, the glaring statistic this season is that only one goal at the City Ground has been scored by a striker. And that striker was Chris Wood on the opening day against Brentford. The New Zealand international has remained injured since October and his clinical finishing from limited opportunities is perhaps the biggest loss to the club since our summer of discontent.

So can Pereira unlock our scoring issue? Does he have the tactical tweaks to make our current 4-2-3-1 set-up work? Or does a formation change make sense?

Either way, he's correctly identified confidence as an issue and it's clear that we have the players and ability to perform - they just need to believe that. As it stands, being comfortable on the ball and passing it around counts for little if you don't have a cutting edge.

Perhaps the new manager has seen enough to know that converting chances is all we really need to work on - especially set pieces. Because playing well, or not, counts for little if you don't start winning games.

  3. 'Pereira making the right noises'published at 19:20 GMT 26 February

Vitor Pereira has had an immediate impact after answering the rescue call following Sean Dyche's sacking two weeks ago.

Forest's fourth manager of the season arrived to save them from relegation and has lifted the mood at the City Ground.

Pereira will learn more from his side against Fenerbahce, which should give him more tools to help Forest survive.

The 57-year-old is always thoughtful and was mindful of committing the "worst mistake" of complacency.

Given Forest's theatrical season so far, a nervy night would not be a surprise, but Pereira continues to make the right noises.

The odds are certainly stacked against Fenerbahce to pull off a huge comeback and progress.

They have won just one of 10 away European matches (including qualifiers) in England (D2 L7), winning 1-0 at Manchester United in October 1996 in the Champions League.

Crystal Palace haven’t lost any of their last three games in the Conference League (W1 D2), but they have won only one of their three home games in the competition (3-1 vs AZ Alkmaar).

Crystal Palace captain Dean Henderson insists the squad retains "full faith" in manager Oliver Glasner.

Chants of 'we want Glasner out' could be heard by sections of the club's away support after last week's draw against Zrinjski in the first leg of the Conference League play-offs.

But Henderson insists Glasner, who led the club to FA Cup glory in May, has the complete backing of the dressing room despite Palace's recent struggles.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Henderson said the players are "100%" behind Glasner and "want the journey to continue in the Conference League."

  7. 'We need the right mentality'published at 19:04 GMT 26 February

While it seems very unlikely Nottingham Forest will be the victim of a comeback win by Galatasaray tonight, boss Vitor Pereira doesn't want his players to believe the tie is done.

"We face a strong team and we cannot risk losing the balance," he said.

"We need to approach this game with the right mentality to play in front of our supporters.

"It is a big chance to please them because they deserve it. They helped us a lot in the last game and they deserve a win."

Crystal Palace v Zrinjski (20:00 GMT)

Vitor Pereira makes six changes as Nottingham Forest look to avoid a major upset against Fenerbahce.

Leading 3-0 from the first leg Morato, Jair Cunha, Nicolas Dominguez, James McAtee, Ryan Yates and Lorenzo Lucca all come in.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Igor Jesus and Callum Hudson-Odoi are on the bench if Pereira needs reinforcements.

Nottingham Forest XI: Ortega, Morato, Murillo, Jair Cunha, Williams, Anderson, Dominguez, Hutchinson, McAtee, Yates, Lucca.

Subs: Gunn, Willows, Sangare, Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Ndoye, Igor Jesus,, Bakwa, Milenkovic, Aina, Abbott.

Fenerbahce can only name seven substitutes amid an injury crisis.

Ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is out, along with former Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu and centre back Jayden Oosterwolde.

It means ex-Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi drops into defence while Leicester and Chelsea title winner N'Golo Kante starts.

Fenerbahce XI: Cetin, Muldur, Guendouzi, Demir, Brown, Aydin, Yuksek, Kante, Nene, Cherif, Akturkoglu.

If it wasn't already tough enough for Fenerbahce, they are also having to deal with a sizeable injury list.

Despute that, coach Domenico Tedesco isn't giving up on the tie yet.

"Nothing is over for us yet," he said.

"We are going to England and we have the determination and desire to work a miracle there.

"The injury situation is bad, but my job is to find a solution. I can cope with the pressure and tension, but I don't want that to weigh on my players.

"I have great faith in the team. Everyone will do their best."

Nottingham Forest have one foot in the Europa League knockouts after a hugely impressive 3-0 win in the first leg of their play off with Fenerbahce, which should make this evening's second leg a formality.

That isn't the case for their Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, however, as they have work to do if they are to reach the Conference League knockouts.
