Liverpool are much better tonight, but they're still struggling to score goals regularly. I also wish Arne Slot would play Calvin Ramsay.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 22:01 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Fresh legs for Liverpool as Federico Chiesa replaces Hugo Ekitike.

  3. CLOSE!published at 22:01 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Liverpool break forward. Hugo Ekitike feeds in Florian Wirtz to the right of the box and he sets it back for Curtis Jones to whip over the top.

    Got to hit the target.

The cross comes flying into the Liverpool box but that's food and drink for Alisson.

Liverpool have just about edged it and they're just about deserving of the 1-0 lead. One thing we know about this Sunderland side is they will keep going.

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Sunderland are pinning Liverpool in right now as they search for this equaliser.

    Can Liverpool hold them off?

Into the final 10 minutes we go. Should imagine there'll be plenty of stoppage time with the injury to Wataru Endo.

I’ve said it already, but I’ll say it again, Hugo Ekiteke needs to become more clinical as soon as possible.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 21:53 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Time for three Sunderland changes with Trai Hume, Nilson Angulo and Omar Alderete replacing Lutsharel Geertruida, Chemsdine Talbi and Romaine Mundle.

It's not very often that Sunderland have been behind at the Stadium of Light this season.

I think there's an expectation now for Sunderland to go and perform at the Stadium of Light but Liverpool have played really well, they're using the counter really effectively.

Sunderland have been dangerous on set-pieces but haven't managed to carve out that chance yet.

  11. CLOSE!published at 21:52 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Andy Robertson picks out the run of Hugo Ekitike in the box. He gets up well and looks to head into the far corner but it's the wrong side of the post.

Much like the one against Man City on Sunday.

Mo Salah is now joint-seventh in the Premier League’s all-time assist rankings (93), level with David Silva.

That has to be smashed low and hard into the back post area from Nordi Mukiele.

  14. Postpublished at 21:50 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk finds Hugo Ekitike with a lovely ball over the top but again his ball into the box isn't the best and Sunderland clear.

With Curtis Jones on, you have a bit more physicality in there.

  16. Postpublished at 21:49 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Nordi Mukiele goes past Andy Robertson with ease but his decision-making is poor and he lashes one over the top.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:48 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Off comes Cody Gakpo for Curtis Jones.

Florian Wirtz will move left with Jones coming into the centre.

  18. Postpublished at 21:48 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Sunderland give the ball straight to Hugo Ekitike but his pass to Mo Salah is poor and it comes to nothing.

  19. Postpublished at 21:47 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

Curtis Jones is getting stripped and ready to come on for Liverpool.

The Reds perhaps looking for a bit more control.

  20. Postpublished at 21:46 GMT 11 February

    Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool

It's a great battle between Brian Brobbey and Ibrahima Konate. The Liverpool defender is coming out on top so far.
