Forest go up the other end and Chris Wood tries a shot but it's blocked. He didn't realise Morgan Gibbs-White had advanced into the penalty area at pace and holds up an arm in apology that he didn't pass to him instead.

Aston Villa want a penalty. Morgan Rogers thinks he was dragged down by Elliot Anderson. The referee waved away the pleas from the Villa players but the VAR will of course have a look at this.

It's starting to open up slightly more now. Forest have got more into it, the fans are getting a bit more involved and a bit more excited so the game is definitely opening up.

Aston Villa probably started the game the better but since that opening 10-15 minutes Forest have been the better side and look more likely to score.

There is a lot of bodies in that area in the middle of the goal and once Murillo gets there he can probably do better because it's a free-header.

Elliot Anderson's delivery is a good one right into the middle of the pack of players in the middle of the box and Murillo rises highest but his header is just wide of the far post.

If you look at Villa's shape now they've almost got a back five and that gives the licence for Neco Williams to get forward. It's just inviting that little bit more pressure.

Elliot Anderson nips round two defenders and gets a shot off with his right foot but it takes a hefty deflection and goes out for a corner.

The emotion affects a lot. We started the game well and then Ipswich scored a goal they will never score against another Premier League team. I saw Delap doing that at youth level bashing people out of the way and it can't happen at this level. I will take the set-piece goal as my fault, if people are stood in the right place, but they weren't."

On Rayan Ait-Nouri's red card: "I haven't seen it. I have just been told he received a second yellow. I spoke to him during the game. We are under a lot of pressure. We are trying to push the group beyond our level and you can't get yourself in trouble. We are stretched as it is. We need Rayan and now we don't have him. I will deal with that internally. I understand the players being emotional but we have to keep control better. For two players not to be in the right place for a corner, at home to Ipswich, in the last seconds, shows they are not able to think clearly enough in those moments."

Especially with how we fought to get back into the game and be the better side for the second half, We were at maximum and felt like we would go on and win the game. To suffer that goal so late, the nature of the goal is crazy, which we have said already.

"I can shield them from so much but long balls over the top and then players are taking it upon themselves to change positions from a corner, for some reason. The subs made a big impact and we fought back and we have nothing to show for it."

On Ipswich's winner: "I was told that it might have been offside. We have had a couple. There are far more pressing matters in my mind than VAR and whether the guy was in the way. Too many mistakes from us again. These cannot happen at these levels. We have no chance if we can't deal with Liam Delap running through. We have no chance if we can't stand in the right place and head the ball. It is a more than disappointing way to lose. We take nothing from it."

What is the most pressing matter? "The team. The ability of the team to cope at this level. I have worked at this level for, this is my third year now and I have never had such a struggle to help the group cope with being at this level. We go to Everton and they boot it up the pitch and we can't cope. We have to find answers within the room to find answers. That second-half performance was us at maximum and them not really threatening. But we still found a way to concede two."

It has been a cagey start with not too much in either penalty box. You can certainly see why both teams are up there, though.

Neco Williams does really well down the left-hand side, zips the ball across to the back post where Chris Wood is waiting. The angle is too tight for him to have a shot so he opts to head back across goal but there's no one there to tap home.

Decent cross from John McGinn to Matty Cash at the back post but it was just a touch high for the Villa full-back.

There is a lot more to Chris Wood's game than his goals. His link-up play is superb and his movement is great. He has always had that but it's only now that he's sort of getting the recognition that he absolutely deserves.

Nottingham Forest are increasing the pressure a little. Nicolas Domínguez tries to whip a ball into the area but it comes straight back out. His second attempt meets the same fate and Villa clear.

Ryan Yates picks up the ball on the edge of the area and gets his shot off but it's a misfire and sails into the stands. It was with his right foot, which he was struggling with earlier.

I think if it's anyone else he would be getting an earful from his teammates but with his record of shooting on sight, nobody can blame him for having a pop.

Jhon Duran knows how to score a worldie but his latest effort is pretty ambitious from the edge of the area and flies over the bar.

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports: "Very disappointing not to win the game. We fully deserved to win the game.

"We conceded no shots. We dominated play. When we generated big chances we didn’t score a goal."

On Everton having a longer break in between games: "No. It doesn’t matter. Look at the intensity of what we generated in the second half.

"[Frustrating] especially when we concede zero [chances] and dominate the game so much."
