Record eight-time winners Lyon go into tonight's quarter-final second leg against Wolfsburg facing a one-goal deficit.

It's only the third time in the competition's history that Les Fenottes have trailed a knockout tie heading into the second leg.

Of the previous two they won one, knocking Juventus out 4-3 on aggregate at this stage in 2021-22, and lost the other, falling to a penalty shootout defeat by Chelsea in the last eight in 2022-23.

Lineth Beerensteyn's 20-yard deflected shot proved the decisive blow for Wolfsburg as they ran out 1-0 winners in last week's first leg against Lyon.

The She Wolves have advanced from all 25 of their previous European knockout ties where they held the lead after the first leg, though it remains a tough task to finish the job in France.

They lost 3-1 on their last visit, which came on matchday three of this season's league phase.

So, that is three of the four semi-finalists decided - Barcelona will meet Bayern Munich in the final four.

In come Jule Brand and American duo Korbin Shrader and Lily Yohannes and out go Damaris Egurrola, Melchie Dumornay and Tabitha Chawinga.
