You feel a second Lyon goal is only a matter of time. They're ripping Wolfsburg apart time and again in the wide areas.

Surprised this near touchline hasn't been worn away given the amount of joy Kadidiatou Diani had in the first half, and now Selma Bacha and Jule Brand in the second.

Nice work from Selma Bacha who moves inside to pick up the ball in the heart of midfield before sliding a pinpoint through pass into the run of Jule Brand.

The subsequent cross is lacking again though.

Lineth Beerensteyn wins her race with Ashley Lawrence to get into a pretty decent position for Wolfsburg in the left channel.

With few options around her she opts to go alone and ends up running it out of play for a Lyon goal kick.

Sums up the night from a Wolfsburg perspective really.

Wolfsburg have struggled against the Lyon high press all night.

They lose it again in their own half as Jule Brand tackles former club mate Svenja Huth, but luckily for the visitors Brand is adjudged to have fouled Vivien Endemann before she can get very far.

Wolfsburg already having to soak up a lot of pressure early in this second half.

Lyon, for all their dominance in possession and aggression around the box, they haven't really created clear-cut opportunities and need to do a little bit more.

Lyon start the second half as they did the first, with left-back Selma Bacha flashing a cross through the six yard box within the opening 30 seconds.

No one in there to tap it home for Lyon.

Neither coach opted to make an alteration at the break, so we continue as we were for the time being.

Wolfsburg captain Svenja Huth gets us back under way.

It's been a fascinating watch so far.

As it stands, we're heading to extra time, and possibly penalties.

We've still got 45 minutes for either side to change that though.

The difference [from last week] is that Lyon are at home, when they got the goal you could see and hear the turn in energy.

They have been more efficient but Wolfsburg are playing into their hands. It's the right idea but they don't have the quality to break this Lyon side down.

Wolfsburg will take confidence that it's only 1-0. I think they'll stick to their game plan and believe in what they're trying to do.

Lyon are dominating possession and territory. You can see what Wolfsburg are trying to do. They are trying to draw a Lyon press and they are trying to play beyond that but it hasn't quite worked.

Lyon haven't been clinical enough but they have got their goal which is important.

They would have wanted to get that early goal because we saw last week the amount of chances they couldn't put in the back of the net.

Lyon boss Jonatan Giraldez will be scratching his head as to how his side are only a single goal to the good at the break.

In the other dugout, it's one big team talk ahead for She Wolves boss Stephan Lerch.

And it is, as the referee blows the whistle as soon as a Wolfsburg boot sends the ball high into the night sky.
