Think Ipswich will finish second, and Leicester go down. Sad to see their downfall in the last 10 years.

    AJ, Northampton

As a City fan for over 75 yrs, I really think if we lose today we are doomed for relegation, come on let’s see that old Foxes never quit, we have done it before, now is the time to get together and fight for our club, come on Blue Army.

The noise is already brilliant in here as the players come out, both sets of fans have been in fine voice in the lead-up to us getting underway.

This feels huge, both sides fighting for Championship survival in the sunshine at Fratton.

The early kick-off does not appear to be having an impact on the atmosphere so far, here we go!

Must win. Last chance saloon. Survival dancing on a knife edge. Call it however we want. No win today, and whilst it may not be mathematically decided today, that's it for me, and nothing less than Leicester deserve for a really poor season. Great for neutrals, petrifying for those involved!

Good afternoon from Fratton Park where it has been a gorgeous day so far.

As far as games go they don't get much bigger than this, nothing can be mathematically confirmed today for either side but there is plenty on the line with three points potentially being key to either team's survival bid.

This place was rocking on Tuesday night when the Blues managed to secure back-to-back wins with a victory over Ipswich Town to move them four points clear of the bottom three.

This game feels just as big and it'll be interesting to see if the early kick-off impacts the atmosphere at all.

A win for Leicester, if results go their way, could move them within two points of safety.

There's been a big boost for the hosts as Josh Murphy and Ebou Adams return to their bench - John Mousinho had previously said that Murphy would miss the rest of the season.

  9. Zetterstrom returns for Rams; no changes for Oxfordpublished at 12:24 BST 18 April

    Derby v Oxford (12:30 BST)

    Derby County XIImage source, Opta

Jacob Widell Zetterstrom returns between the sticks for Derby as boss John Eustace makes a triple change.

The Sweden stopper has missed the side's past 13 league games with illness.

Derry Murkin and Ben Brereton Diaz are also straight back into the XI after missing out on the trip to St Mary's last week.

Max Johnston moves to the bench but there is no Bobby Clark, who may have played his last game in a Derby shirt after picking up a hamstring injury.

Oxford keep the same successful starting line-up from when they beat Watford last time out.

But the squad will be without winger Przemyslaw Placheta, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with his own hamstring problem.

Millwall boss Alex Neil makes just the one change from the side which drew 0-0 at West Brom eight days ago.

Striker Mihailo Ivanovic drops to the bench and midfielder Derek Mazou-Sacko takes his starting berth.

Kwame Poku makes his first start for QPR since 4 January, taking the place of Rayan Kolli who is among the substitutes.

Skipper Jimmy Dunne misses a second game for the R's because of an injury.

  11. Pompey change two; Begovic back in goal for Foxespublished at 12:20 BST 18 April

Portsmouth make two alterations from the XI that started the impressive midweek win over Ipswich. Out go Adrian Segecic and John Swift and in come Keshi Anderson and Conor Chaplin. Big news on the bench too with midfielder Ebou Adams and key forward Josh Murphy both making unexpected returns to the squad.

Leicester make three changes from the team that started the damaging home defeat by Swansea last time out. Former Pompey goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is back in as are midfielder Hamza Choudhury and forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid

I saw a lot of Leicester City the last time they were relegated to League One.

As winter turned to spring in 2008 Ian Holloway's men slid unstoppably towards the drop and if I remember one thing above all, it's that they had no luck. None.

If a shot seemed goalbound, it would instead hit the woodwork. Stonewall penalties for Leicester would pass by without a whistle. The ball just never sat up right for the pass or strike. I feel like every time I left the stadium I was wondering, "how have they lost that?"

The class of 2026 can't make the same excuse. Yes they have suffered a six-point deduction, but this is a hugely talented team delivering results well below their ability. Most of the regulars were part of Enzo Maresca's Championship title-winning squad two years ago.

Manager Gary Rowett's frustrations have been clear - he thinks his side are far too keen on scoring the perfect goal. They're not willing to do the scrappy, ugly things that win you matches in this situation. He's hinted that leaders are thin on the ground in the Foxes' dressing room.

That's maybe why he declared after last weekend's loss to Swansea that this game was a must win for Leicester. Whatever the maths say, if they lose this a third relegation in four seasons seems inevitable.

The team is good enough to win matches, and to win them in style. If they're to have any hope at all they have to start winning in any way they can. And start winning today.

  13. Oxford and Derby both hoping to soarpublished at 12:16 BST 18 April

Oxford will be seeking a way out of the bottom three as they take on Derby County this afternoon but while the U's may have taken a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture in October, they will be taking nothing for granted.

The Rams still hold on to slim chances of sneaking into the play-offs, with just four points separating them from the top six.

Plus the hosts have won all of their previous five games at Pride Park and with just one more home game guaranteed to come on the final day, Derby will be looking to keep their home fans smiling regardless of their table position.

  14. Stuttering Lions seek home comfortspublished at 12:14 BST 18 April

    Millwall v QPR (12:30 BST)

There are many cliches in sport surrounding those who sprint towards the finish line and those who stumble when it comes into view.

Have Millwall hit the buffers with the chequered flag in sight?

The Lions have won only one of their past five Championship matches and lost successive games at home - second place is still there for the taking but do Alex Neil's side have the minerals required?

"Do we want to try to go up automatically? Of course we do. Who wouldn't? But would we be disappointed with the play-offs? Absolutely 100% not," said Neil this week as he prepares for a lunchtime London derby against QPR.

As well as today, their remaining fixtures are favourable with trips to Stoke and Leicester followed by a home meeting with Oxford - and a win this lunchtime would push them back above Ipswich who have a home game against Middlesbrough tomorrow (12:00 BST).

QPR are drifting a little towards the end of the campaign, albeit they are unbeaten in their past five with three wins and they might fancy the role of disruptors in south London.

Julien Stephan's team can also have a big say on who joins Coventry in the Premier League next season with a final day match at Ipswich on the horizon.

  15. Now or never for flailing Foxespublished at 12:12 BST 18 April

    Portsmouth v Leicester (12:30 BST)

Leicester City boss Gary RowettImage source, Shutterstock

Leicester City boss Gary Rowett hasn't pulled any punches before this relegation six-pointer at Portsmouth.

The beleaguered Foxes are five points adrift of safety with four games to play and Rowett has said his side "have" to win today's game.

They could have done without Pompey suddenly finding form with successive clean sheet wins over promotion-chasing pair Middlesbrough and Ipswich.

A run of four games without a defeat has moved John Mousinho's men four points clear of the bottom three and victory today would move them out of reach of Leicester and up to 51 points.

With Coventry City's future set in stone, today's early action centres on the battle to join them in the Premier League and the one to avoid the dreaded trapdoor.

Leicester City know anything other than a win at Portsmouth could leave their Championship status hanging by a thread by five o'clock while Oxford United's trip to Derby County affects both the relegation situation and the race for the play-offs.

Millwall can reclaim second spot for 24 hours at least by beating QPR.

That is probably enough for now and we haven't even mentioned the games at 15:00 BST.
