Liverpool are in a real difficult moment, he's an iconic figure here. Whoever is managing Liverpool right now would pick Mo Salah.

  4. 'Salah and Gakpo have one trick'published at 23:16 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Lee Blakeman
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live at Anfield

When you look at Liverpool going forwards, their wide players were so, so predictable. Salah and Gakpo have one trick, in from the right on his left foot for Salah, in from the left on his right for Gakpo, and it was so, so easy to defend against. That was where the moves were breaking down.

  5. 'A lot more for Tottenham to be positive about'published at 23:12 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: PSG 5-3 Tottenham

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England keeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Tottenham were the masters of their own downfall, or at least the start of it, because for an hour they played so well.

They conceded two goals to Vitinha which were two fantastic strikes, and so if the game finished 2-2 then Thomas Frank could have come away and said, "Do you know what, we put on a performance."

What I will say is that Tottenham had a different attitude tonight. Their application, their work rate, their pressing, they started higher up the field. There was a lot more to be positive about.

Unlike at the weekend Frank can put his finger on things that went wrong tonight rather than scratching his head and thinking he didn't recognise his team..

  6. 'Very, very worrying performance'published at 23:10 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Lee Blakeman
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live at Anfield

The only player in Liverpool colours that can leave the field with any kind of positive next to his name is Szoboszlai.

He got the goal and tried to drive forward and create in midfield, but given the lack of support around him, he had absolutely no chance.

A very, very worrying Liverpool performance.

  7. 'With each defeat it gets closer to being a crisis'published at 23:07 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Steven Gerrard
Former England and Liverpool captain on TNT Sports

With each defeat it gets closer to being a crisis.

Liverpool still have magnificent players, this squad won the league. There is no excuses for a performance like that at this football club.

You cannot deny the team is struggling massively, they are on a terrible run, their confidence is at an all-time low, they are wide open.

Unless the manager can find answers and stability in his team, then this situation is going to continue.

  8. Arsenal 'in an extremely strong place'published at 23:03 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

With all the competitions teams play in it is now a squad game more than ever and that is perhaps one of the criticisms that you would have levelled at Arsenal last year, the lack of squad depth. If they had two or three key injuries they could not have coped with it.

Now they can not only afford to have injuries, they can afford to rotate and change the side. They have got two players for every position. They are in an extremely strong place.

  9. 'It isn't easy to keep a squad of this depth hungry'published at 23:00 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live at Emirates Stadium

Arsenal's bench delivers in all areas in terms of freshness and quality.

We are talking about multiple players coming on and having an impact. They are all scrapping for a starting position.

I think that's the key. It isn't easy for a manager to keep a squad of this depth hungry, together and fighting for the shirt, but also responding in the right way when not in the team.

Ultimately, Mikel Arteta has all his players pulling in the same direction. The goal is a Premier League title and getting a far as they can in the Champions League.

    FT: Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool are very susceptible at the minute.

For the first 30 minutes against Nottingham Forest, they looked to have a fizz about them and the zest back in their stride. They were pressing high and being active but, as soon as Nottingham Forest got a foothold, the cracks and creaks appeared.

You can see when a team is lacking in confidence. It doesn't take a lot to put them on the back foot, but that's what we are seeing at the moment.

Teams know they can stay in games and hurt this Liverpool side currently.

  13. 'The emotions are very negative and disappointing'published at 22:52 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Liverpool 1-4 PSV

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to TNT Sports: "The emotions are very negative and disappointing. The way we conceded the 1-0. I want to be positive about the reaction of the players when we went 1-0 down. We came back into the game and had chances to go 2-1 up. I don't think anyone thought we would lose 4-1.

On Van Dijk's complaints: "He got a little push. It unbalanced him and that's why he raised his arm and made the handball.

"After half-time, we conceded 2-1 quite early. We still had some good chances to go 2-2. 10 or 15 minutes before the end, we conceded another goal. Hard to take.

"After we conceded the first one, we saw a reaction I want to see. The mentality I saw afterwards was what I was hoping it to be. Even after 2-1, we kept trying to make it 2-1. End result is 4-1 and that's a big loss.

"I liked how we reacted in transition in the first half. It felt like Hugo [Ekitike] couldn't move like he could in the first half and that's why he couldn't press as he did in the first half.

"The only way to go is to go through now. We need to face where we're in and fight really hard. The feeling I have is that after 45 minutes, you don't expect to be 1-1, you expect to be up. The reaction of the players is what you expect from a Liverpool player."

  14. 'Some positives to be taken'published at 22:50 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: PSG 5-3 Tottenham

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Parc des Princes

There are definitely some positives to be taken from Tottenham's performance, particularly given what happened in the north London derby at the weekend.

They did ship five goals and they were well beaten by a better team, but they did show some improvement. They will actually be a little disappointed with some of the goals they conceded.

You always felt Paris St-Germain had it within their grasps to step things up a few more gears and take the result, and that's what they did.

  15. Kane: 'No need to panic but we'll learn from this'published at 22:47 GMT 26 November 2025

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich striker and England captain Harry Kane, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a tough game which is kind of what we expected. It was a good battle in the first half which was fairly even.

"Second half we didn’t quite have the same energy or intensity and we lost too many duels. It's our first loss of the season. We don’t’ want to panic too much about it. But we will learn about it for sure.

"They won the first and second balls. Set pieces, we knew they would be dangerous. I'm sure we'll see them [Arsenal] again in the later stages of the Champions League.

"They defended man for man pretty much all over the pitch. As I said, I don’t think it’s time to panic. We have played Chelsea, and Paris St-Germain and Arsenal away. We have won the majority of our games."

    FT: Arsenal 3-1 Bayern Munich

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to TNT Sports on what pleased him most: "Probably the overall performance and the way we dominated the game. This game was going to require a different dimension, and individually we were exceptional.

"This will bring more confidence and trust to the players. We made changes. The players performed in an incredible way. I am so pleased, I thought we were excellent.

"It's very important to have them back and available [Noni Madueke, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard]. The impact the players are showing is remarkable."

On whether it feels like it could be Arsenal's season in the Champions League: "I don't know. We're going to enjoy tonight and then start to prepare for the weekend. There is still so far to go."
