This is what I expected to see, an open game, a long game.

Bayern will be happy that they are getting in behind Madrid and making these chances on the break. They have done it two or three times now. Problem is Madrid have also done it four or five times now to them.

Manuel Neuer tries to kill a few seconds and is booed by the home fans.

Leroy Sane manages to sneak in behind Real's backline. He has space in the box but he tries to scoop it into the middle and gets it all wrong. Nacho is able to clear.

That was incredible. Bayern were complaining because Madrid took the throw-in while the other ball was still on the pitch.

What a save by Neuer, he's up quick and he's agile.

The pass into Vinicius Jr was through the legs of the defender from Dani Caravjal, wonderful.

Vinicius doesn't have any time, one touch, turns and shoots and finds the far post. Everyone stunned it doesn't go in. The rebound is saved by Manuel Neuer and gathered.

Vinicius Junior bends it wide of the far post after a nice move by Real down the left.

My word, how has this not gone in?

Dani Carvajal slides it through the legs of Jamal Musiala. It comes to Vinicius Junior, he fires it against the post and the rebound from Rodrygo is clawed away by Manuel Neuer.

Two chances at both ends but not a shot from either side yet. There's tonnes of space though.

We had a conversation last night and we mentioned that Jude Bellingham throws himself down.

He's done it again, he has 100% done it again, throws himself down and says there is contact.

No, he initiates the contact there. Well done referee, he got that one right.

Serge Gnabry does almost the exact same thing at the other end, this time sliding it in from the left, and it evades Harry Kane!

There's just so much space in the middle of the pitch. With both teams putting their wingers really wide and high it is making a huge amount of space in the midfield.

You just feel that there is a chance coming through there. Real Madrid on top so far.

Dani Carvajal is in space on the right. He drills it straight across the six-yard area and somehow misses everyone!

Real keep it in play on the far side and Jude Bellingham goes down under contact from Joshua Kimmich.

He wants a penalty and doesn't get one.

Real are on top at the moment. Bayern are switching formations when they win the ball back though. They are trying to exploit the spaces in behind Real's defence.

Bayern send it long to Leroy Sane and he holds it up but appeals for a shirt tug by Ferland Mendy. The referee waves play on and Jude Bellingham can dribble it out.

A loose pass straight from the kick-off and Joshua Kimmich is beaten to it by Vinicius Junior. He sprints all the way down the pitch and wins a corner. Decent start!

Off we go in Madrid. Predictions?
