  1. Why form doesn't favour Killie at Aberdeenpublished at 14:28 BST 25 April

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Neil McCann takes Kilmarnock to Aberdeen with his side in 11th, two points behind St Mirren and five adrift of their hosts and Dundee.

The Dons stretched their lead over the Ayrshire team after beating Hibs at home last time out to end a run of eight games without a win, while Killie drew 2-2 with Dundee.

Head coach Stephen Robinson will be hoping a first win in four games since he switched from St Mirren will ease some of the pressure that has mounted on Aberdeen.

Kilmarnock, meanwhile, have improved under McCann but still have a fight on their hands to avoid a repeat of 2021, when their 28-year stay in the top flight was ended after a play-off defeat by Dundee.

Indeed, the odds appear stacked against them at Pittodrie considering they have not won in 13 trips away from Rugby Park since September and have lost on their latest four visits to Aberdeen.

  2. Can Celtic go level on points at summit?published at 14:25 BST 25 April

    Celtic v Falkirk (17:30)

    Top three

Celtic can go level on points with leaders Hearts today.

Given the way the season has gone for them, that feels a bit bonkers to me.

Of course, Martin O'Neill's side will need to defeat Falkirk to manage that before Hearts go to Hibs and Rangers welcome Motherwell tomorrow.

Even after an extra-time goal flurry that secured a 6-2 Scottish Cup semi-final win over St Mirren last weekend, you just feel you can't trust this Celtic team.

Falkirk had their hearts broken a day prior, losing on penalties to bitter rivals Dunfermline, but they could put that well behind them by fuelling their European hopes with a result at Celtic Park.

The action at Parkhead kicks off at 17:30 BST. We'll have live match commentary on Sportsound and text updates here, plus we'll give you the team news when it lands.

  3. How will St Mirren respond to Hampden heartache?published at 14:22 BST 25 April

Highlights: Celtic 6-2 St Mirren (AET)

St Mirren will fancy their chances of bouncing back from Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final heartache considering doomed Livingston arrive having still not won since August. Yikes.

A 6-2 defeat would take the wind out of many a side's sails, but interim Buddies boss Craig McLeish will be stressing how well they did to come back from 2-0 down to take Celtic beyond the 90 before they bulldozed in six extra-time minutes.

St Mirren will also have to be wary of a side who are fighting for their survival and have only lost two of their latest seven outings under Marvin Bartley.

Livingston have not won away from home in the league all season and have failed to record a victory in Paisley in 10 visits.

However, their latest three meetings with St Mirren have all finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, albeit all at home, with Livingston only losing the first after a penalty shootout in the Scottish Cup before two league stalemates.

  4. Sinclair starts for St Mirren; McGowan back to captain Livipublished at 14:19 BST 25 April

    St Mirren v Livingston (15:00)

Craig McLeish has thrown emergency loanee Ross Sinclair straight into his starting XI, with 17-year-old Grant Tamosevicius - the goalkeeper who made his debut at Hampden last week - named on the bench.

Liam Donnelly drops out of the squad from the semi-final defeat to Celtic, having picked up a thigh strain, with Richard King coming into the back three.

Livingston make two changes, with Cristian Montano and Cammy Kerr dropping to the bench.

Brooklyn Kabongolo comes back in, as does Ryan McGowan, who wears the captain's armband.

  6. Is today the day Livi's fate is sealed?published at 14:13 BST 25 April

    St Mirren v Livingston (15:00)

    Table

This could be the day Livingston's fate is sealed.

If Kilmarnock, who are at Aberdeen, better the bottom side's result at St Mirren, their inevitable relegation will be confirmed.

Winning just one of their 33 league games this season, it has been pretty miserable stuff for Livi all campaign.

Marvin Bartley will want his team to go out swinging, though.

  8. Six-pointer seasonpublished at 14:08 BST 25 April

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

You get a sense that every game in the bottom half of the table between now and the end of the season will be a six-pointer.

This afternoon’s Pittodrie showdown between Aberdeen and Kilmarnock certainly ticks that box anyway.

A 2-0 victory over Hibs last time out was the Dons’ first league win since January and opened up a five-point gap over Killie, who currently occupy the dreaded relegation play-off spot.

Another home victory would certainly go a long way to securing Aberdeen’s place in the Premiership for another season.

Kilmarnock aren’t quite in win-or-bust territory yet, but they could do with a win to keep the pressure on the sides above them and boost their own chances of dodging a nervy end-of-season play-off.

Killie are a team who don’t fare particularly well on the road - manager Neil McCann could do with finding a cure for their travel sickness in the Granite City today.

  9. Frame in for Dons; Strykek in goal for Killiepublished at 14:05 BST 25 April

    Aberdeen v Kilmarnock (15:00)

After his first win as Aberdeen head coach against Hibernian last time out, Stephen Robinson makes just one change.

Emmanuel Gyamfi misses out, so Mitchel Frame starts at left-back.

Mats Knoester - who was named Aberdeen's player of the season this week - is back for the first time since injuring his head at the end of January at Rugby Park.

Goalkeeper Max Stryjek starts for Kilmarnock for the first time since his heart surgery - he hasn't played since October.

Nicky Clescenco for Joe Hugill is the only other change from the draw with Dundee. I'ts the winger's first Killie start.
