    Charlton 0-0 Hull City

Dear me, Charlton have a corner down their left and Jayden Fevrier knocks it straight out of play.

In better news, looks like Hull's Eliot Matazo is going to give it a go.

A free-kick for Middlesbrough and up steps Morgan Whittaker to find the top corner from 25 yards.

A 14th goal of the campaign for the striker.

    Oh, this isn't good.

Hull City midfielder Eliot Matazo is making his first appearance since February 2025 because of an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

He's gone down holding his knee and getting some treatment.

Got a bet on Norwich making the play-offs so I'm hoping Charlton do us a favour today and get three points. The reality is I'd be happy with Norwich winning the Championship next season...

VERY early yellow card for Collins Sichenje as the Addicks defender takes out the sprinting Liam Millar.

Hull's free-kick from their left is plucked out of the air by Thomas Kaminski.

    West Brom 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich are still without the injured Leif Davis and, after Ben Johnson's mistake which led to a goal at Charlton on Wednesday, boss Kieran McKenna has moved central defender Jacob Greaves out to left-back today.

That cannot be ideal at this stage of the season.

Nat Phillips nods an early chance over the bar for West Brom.

Give the drama a rest. Ipswich have loads of breathing space - barring a total collapse they will finish second, Boro have no chance.

Is playing two of the division's in-form teams - both away from home - as your games in hand breathing space?

Charlton have made four alterations from the side that started the 2-1 home reverse by Ipswich. Harry Clarke, Conor Coady, Harvey Knibbs and Sonny Carey are all back in the starting XI.

Hull City have made just one change from the XI that started the 2-2 draw at Leicester on Tuesday but it's a notable one. Winger Mo Belloumi drops down to the bench and Eliot Matazo, who hasn't played since suffering a serious knee injury in February 2025, is in.

Charlton boss Nathan Jones released a message to the club's fans on Thursday asking them to put up a united front for this match., external

A run of seven games without a win has seen the Addicks slip back into relegation danger but if they avoid defeat against Hull City they will confirm their place in the Championship next season.

Hull have themselves run into a spell of poor form at just the wrong time.

The Tigers are winless in five and have dropped out of the play-off places on goal difference behind Wrexham.

With the Red Dragons at champions Coventry tomorrow Sergej Jakirovic's men will be keen to put down a marker today.

Needing one point to mathematically secure a play-off spot, Middlesbrough boss Kim Hellberg makes four changes from the side which edged past Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

Alex Gilbert, Alex Bangura, Sontje Hansen and Jeremy Sarmiento start.

Matt Targett, Dael Fry, Tommy Conway and Alan Browne are among the substitutes.

Watford are without Jeremy Petris today while Othmane Maamma, Nestory Irankunda and Giorgi Chakvetadze are on the bench.

Into the side come Jeremy Ngakia, Marc Bola, Imran Louza and Edoardo Bove.

Middlesbrough Head Coach Kim Hellberg spoke to Harry Roy ahead of the visit of Watford.

Even the most optimistic of Middlesbrough fans will surely be preparing for the play-offs.

While boss Kim Hellberg continues to make all the right noises, their race for automatic promotion looks to be run.

"We need to try to win our game and hope that can take it to the last day of the season," Hellberg said.

Winning, and the lack of it, has been their main problem - just one victory from seven matches has seen their challenge for second place evaporate.

It could be worse for Boro, they could be Watford.

They are on their third head coach of the season in Ed Still and while admittedly that is not unusual for the Hornets, the boss is under the microscope after three defeats with no goals scored.

"I'm not someone who gives up. I'm a fighter. I'm a winner. So for me it's about working out how to take the next step forwards," he said.

Normally at Watford that sort of form means the next steps are out of the door...

West Brom make one change from the side which beat Watford in midweek.

Top scorer Aune Heggebo starts with Josh Maja among the substitutes.

There is still no Leif Davis for Ipswich because of a hamstring injury as Kieran McKenna makes two changes from the side which won at Charlton on Wednesday.

Cedric Kipre and Jack Clarke are included at the expense of the benched Ben Johnson and Jaden Philogene.

This game was expected to be all about Ipswich but suddenly West Brom are back in the relegation equation.

The Baggies' two-point deduction for breaching EFL financial regulations, announced yesterday, means they now need a point to ensure Championship safety, again.

Admittedly, Oxford would need to win both their remaining games but this was supposed to be about West Brom marking retaining their status in their final home game of the season.

There may be a few bleary eyes in the Ipswich camp if they stayed up last night to watch Millwall snatch a draw at Leicester and move back into second position, but the Suffolk side now know five points from their remaining three games will definitely earn a return to the Premier League.

West Brom may pose more of a live threat this lunchtime but it is advantage Ipswich in the race for that second automatic promotion place.

Ipswich now know five points from their remaining three games will earn them promotion - four will likely do it given their superior goal difference.

One point for West Brom against Town today will see them safe, again after their two-point deduction.

Middlesbrough need one point against Watford to mathematically secure a play-off spot.

Oxford United must beat Sheffield Wednesday and hope for favours from elsewhere to stay alive in the survival battle.
