The Portuguese was only around for one season but will forever be a hero for those of a maroon persuasion after his side hammered Hibs in the 2012 Scottish Cup final.

There were a few people disappointed not to see Falkirk striker Barney Stewart in the latest Scotland squad.

The 21-year-old has eight goals in his previous 10 outings in all competitions, with four coming in the past three games.

The former Heriot-Watt University student has only been playing senior football for a little over 14 months and made his top flight debut in January.

After a drab 0-0 at Firhill last night, St Johnstone remain eight points clear of Partick Thistle who have a game in hand.

Falkirk know a point will guarantee playing out the remainder of the campaign in the top half of the table, a momentous achievement for John McGlynn's team, whose steady rise through the ranks has been one of Scottish football's real success stories.

As for St Mirren, only goal difference keeps them above relegation play-off place occupants Kilmarnock.

The Paisley Saints have won just one of their past 14 league games, oh, and let's not forget they are also without a manager.

That said, their destiny remains very much in their own hands and victory this afternoon would be the perfect way to start the process of getting things moving in the right direction.

After defeat last week in Kilmarnock the pressure truly is on Hearts to get back to winning ways and in doing so maintain their challenge for their first top flight title in over 60 years.

The return of Cammy Devlin and captain Lawrence Shankland to the squad is undoubtedly a huge boost but Dundee will be no pushovers as their dramatic derby comeback showed.

There hasn't been a goalless draw in the fixture in 25 years and with so much on the line for both teams this match may have the sell-out crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the 90 minutes.

After 30 games, a mere three points cover Hearts, Celtic and Rangers.

Hearts are first up, their home game against Dundee among four three o'clock starts, along with bottom two, Kilmarnock and Livingston, meeting at Rugby Park.

Rangers host Aberdeen at 17:45, while Celtic visit Dundee United tomorrow lunchtime.
