Tolu Arokodare nicks the ball deep in the Everton half and plays a quick ball through for Hwang Hee-chan. He decides to hit it early but it's a really poor finish.

Newcastle United v Leeds United (20:15 GMT)

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

"We are all with you King Kev."

Those are the words on the big screen at St James' Park after Newcastle United legend Kevin Keegan was diagnosed with cancer.

Supporters have broken into a chant of "there's only one Kevin Keegan" and head coach Eddie Howe is among those on his feet applauding as the stadium announcer says "we are with you every step of the way".

    Fitting.

    Brentford 1-0 Sunderland

Mathias Jensen fires an effort well over the bar from 25 yards. The hosts have been good value for their lead so far.

  5. 'Brighton punished for one error'published at 20:15 GMT 7 January

    Manchester City 1-0 Brighton

    Andy Hinchcliffe
Former Man City and Everton defender on Sky Sports

It's a really cool penalty by Haaland. He gets a good connection and whips it into the bottom corner.

He's hardly had a touch for the opening 40 minutes. But just one error by Brighton's Gomez and he and his team have been punished.

  6. Guardiola x Hurzeler ding dongpublished at 20:15 GMT 7 January

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Shamoon Hafez
Football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

Before and after that penalty, Pep Guardiola and Fabian Hurzeler were having a right ding-dong on the touchline.

Not sure what it was about but the Man City boss has been booked by the referee.

  7. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 20:15 GMT 7 January

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

Before Erling Haaland stepped up the penalty spot, Thomas Bramall had his yellow card out.

Pascal Gross went in the book, and so did Pep Guardiola. Not quite sure what the City boss did, but he was yelling angrily at Fabian Hurzeler after his booking.

That's never a penalty, he's thrown himself over the defender's knee. Contact doesn't always mean a foul. If Doku actually bashed into him fair enough, but he's launched himself over his knee before the contact. That's a dive.

    Tom

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:14 GMT 7 January

    Bournemouth 2-1 Tottenham

A card for Antoine Semenyo on his 26th birthday.

Unfortunately it's a yellow one from referee Darren England for a blatant foul.

  10. Postpublished at 20:14 GMT 7 January

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo goes down and as the referee calls for the physio, he gets back to his feet. The ref says for the physios to come on anyway and Caicedo sits back down.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Aston Villa

    Aaron Paul
BBC Radio 5 Live reporter at Selhurst Park

Absolutely dreadful. Bits and bobs. It's like the last of a Christmas box of chocolates - no one really wants it.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:14 GMT 7 January

    Everton 1-0 Wolves

Jose Sa is bundled into by James Tarkowski and he's not happy. Sa wants a free-kick but a goal kick is given.

The Wolves skipper has a bit too much to say about it and picks up a booking.

  13. Postpublished at 20:13 GMT 7 January

    Brentford 1-0 Sunderland

Nordi Mukiele with an awful cross that is cut out easily as Sunderland get in down the right. The France international has to do miles better with that.

  14. Postpublished at 20:13 GMT 7 January

    Bournemouth 2-1 Tottenham

    This is a great stat...

No teenager has scored more goals in Europe's big five leagues this season than Bournemouth's Junior Kroupi (7 - level with Lamine Yamal).

The 19-year-old has scored in back-to-back games.

  15. Postpublished at 20:13 GMT 7 January

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Aston Villa

Matty Cash connects with the ball really well from outside the box. It bounces off Tyrick Mitchell and goes behind for a corner.

It did hit Mitchell's hand but his arm was by his side.

  16. Postpublished at 20:13 GMT 7 January

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Woof. Fulham's Emile Smith Rowe gets the ball, turns and shoots - a very powerful strike, but it flies just over the bar.

  17. Shocker from the refpublished at 20:12 GMT 7 January

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Shamoon Hafez
Football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

The big question is, how did referee Thomas Bramall not give the spot-kick in the first place?

He was in the perfect position and looking right at the incident.

"You're not fit to referee," is the chant from the home fans.

  18. 'This is why we have VAR'published at 20:12 GMT 7 January

    Manchester City 1-0 Brighton

    Andy Hinchcliffe
Former Man City and Everton defender on Sky Sports

It seems knee-on-knee and that he is taken out by Gomez. VAR does the right thing.

  19. 'Defender tries to intercept the ball and gets it wrong'published at 20:12 GMT 7 January

    Rachel Corsie
Former Scotland captain on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a penalty for me. Doku has chopped inside and is going to get that and the defender's leg moves towards him. He is going to try to intercept the ball and gets it wrong. If you do that as a defender you are worried.

  20. Postpublished at 20:12 GMT 7 January

    Fulham 0-0 Chelsea

Chelsea have their first shot in 20 minutes but Cole Palmer's effort from outside the box is simply saved by Bernd Leno.
