Cambridge go on a quick counter, looping a long diagonal ball over to Ben Knight in plenty of space on the right flank.

He runs the hard yards and the Bromley defenders can't keep up with his pace but his strike is just inches wide of the post.

Bromley's Nicke Kabamba is given a shove by a Cambridge player inside the penalty box after a great throw-in, tumbling to the floor.

The stadium roars for a penalty but the referee isn't in agreement.

Bromley skipper Byron Webster is back into the starting XI for his first minutes in 13 games having missed the last 12.

Zech Medley, Ben Krauhaus, Ben Thompson and Jude Arthurs join him in the XI to make up five changes.

Kyle Cameron, Idris Odutayo, Will Hondermarck, Corey Whitely, and Damola Ajayi all move to the bench.

Just the one change for Cambridge though as goalkeeper Jack Walton comes in for his debut.

The Preston North End stopper was signed on an emergency loan this week after first choice Jake Eastwood was suspended for handling the ball outside the penalty area at Notts County last time out.

Victory for Vale might only stave off relegation for another week, but a great start for the side from the Potteries.

Tonight's match will bring to a close Bromley's two-part bid to win promotion in a game against their closest rivals.

The side failed to do so last time out against MK Dons but will a home game against Cambridge prove just the ticket?

The U's will be riding high after a big 4-0 win against Notts County on the weekend put them back into the third spot, while Bromley will need to shake off that 2-1 loss at Stadium MK.

The league leaders will also need shed the memory of the reverse fixture, which saw them unable to overcome a 2-0 deficit at half-time to lose 2-1.

A win tonight would confirm Bromley's promotion to League One as well as guarantee another weekend at the top.

Cambridge will want to get away from chasing Notts County to ensure they stay in the top three though, as well as close in on Bromley's tight grip on the title.

They're under way at the Weston Homes Stadium in Thursday's sole League One encounter.

Port Vale can't be relegated tonight because of their games in hand, but defeat would leave them 15 points from the safety line with 15 left to play for.

In all truth, it's probably a bigger game for Posh who are four points above the drop zone.

While our main focus will be on the huge fixture in League Two, we'll keep you updated from this one too.

Jon Brady said to me both prior and after the game (against Barnsley on Tuesday) that he didn't want to "break the players".

That's not a phrase that some are particularly on board with.

However, he is very conscious of not overloading the players, particularly when they have another game on Sunday.

Then, another three away games within the space of six days. So you can kind of see the logic (behind making eight changes tonight).
