  1. 'We want to enjoy this period'published at 16:29 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Sunderland

Sunderland boss Regis le Bris speaking to Sky Sports: "I liked the win most! In this industry you have to win so find a way. New coach for Tottenham and the lads did well because we had to adapt but still be proactive. We didn't create many chances but lots of opportunities close to the box. Their positional play is unpredictable, we know the ideas and they found one or two passes in the first half but after that it was about key moments."

On how Spurs played: "It wasn't so different, small details but at that level this makes a difference. After three defeats at home, it was important to rebuild our fortress. I appreciated the energy of the group."

On the energy at home: "The lads are ambitious. They want to win. We don't know what we can achieve. The first goal of staying in the league is done but after that we never know. It is all about standards. This one was tough. Even though Tottenham are struggling in the league, it was still difficult."

On pushing for Europe: "Not me directly but I know the players are talking behind me! We want to be a top-10 team and we want to achieve that consistency. We still have a lot to do and we want to enjoy this period."

  2. 'Every game for us now is a cup final'published at 16:27 BST 12 April

FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Aston Villa

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest goalscorer Neco Williams speaking to Sky Sports: "We are pleased [with a point], every point at this stage of the season is so valuable. We wanted three points but Villa are a top side. It's an important point

"We knew how important the second goal was, we knew we had to get the second goal and we did. We stuck together, a proper team performance today. It was important to stick at it. It's a valuable point.

"The manager has been telling me to shoot outside the box more and that's what I did today. I took a few and one went in, so i'm pleased with that. With the surface and the rain, it was important to get our shots off."

On Tottenham losing to Sunderland today: "You don't want to look at the table too much because you want to focus on yourself. It's hard not to with the position we are in. It's a good point and we need to build on that.

"Every game for us now is a cup final. Every point is so important. We need to build and carry on with this momentum."

  3. 'Problems are becoming too big for the Tottenham players'published at 16:26 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

You were looking for a response. New manager's first game in charge, honeymoon period, and it hasn't come. There is a feeling now for Tottenham that the problems are becoming too big for the players. The effort and endeavour was there, but it's just not falling for them. And you do fear for them.

  4. 'Give this football club respect'published at 16:24 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Sunderland

Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka speaking to Sky Sports: "After four weeks of not being at home, it was so important to give the fans what they needed. We knew before the season that we can beat everyone if we stay like this with the hunger and desire and take the three points."

On facing Spurs with a new manager: "Not the first time we are playing against a team who have changed manager. He [Roberto de Zerbi] has the mentality to win but we knew what we had to do and it was nearly a perfect game."

On Sunderland pushing for Europe: "Before the season, nobody expected us to be where we are. When I signed it was 2% chance of us staying up and now it is over 100%. Give this football club respect. We stay humble and see what we can do until the end."

On whether he is surprised about Spurs being in the relegation zone: "It's not my job to speak about Spurs. I am not a Spurs player. I look after these boys and this football club. We look after ourselves and let's see where we get to."

  6. 'Probably the story of our season'published at 16:21 BST 12 April

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-1 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale speaking to Sky Sports: "Probably the story of our season - getting into winning positions and not being able to hold onto it. I can't really put my finger on it, but we are working hard to come up with something.

"We could've gone two or three goals up on another day. It wasn't to be."

On whether Crystal Palace bringing on Jean-Philippe Mateta changed the game: "I don't know if that changed the whole structure of the game. We were still in control, passing the ball around and creating chances. It's hard to say what has actually happened straight off the back of it.

"It's a really disappointing afternoon after a good 85 minutes of the match."

On hopes of qualifying for Europe: "I'm not too sure if it's over. We want to win every single game and we are ready to fight in every single game. We slipped up again today. So we need to find some solution to keep hold of the lead when in matches and to take the three points."

  7. 'We deserve where we are today'published at 16:20 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Sunderland

Sunderland defender Nordi Mukiele speaking to Sky Sports about his goal: "In football you have to take a chance and that's what I did. I took the shot and it went in so I am really happy for the performance of the team. The energy is very important after we lost three games in a row. We were at home, it was our tempo and our rules.

"We started very strong and the season is very long. We deserve where we are today because we work hard. Now is a bonus and now we have six games to show where we are. We have to stay humble."

The points we’ve dropped from winning positions this season is shocking, we can talk about the £100m plus we’ve spent on poor strikers, but it seems we need new defenders!

    Ian, Newcastle

Newcastle look absolutely toothless and bereft of ideas. This season needs to come to a swift end and a huge regroup is needed ahead of next season.

  9. 'A good point'published at 16:18 BST 12 April

FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Aston Villa

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manger Vitor Pereira speaking to Sky Sports: "It was a good point in a difficult game against a very difficult opponent. Opportunities from one side, opportunities form the other. In the end one point I think is a good result.

"Villa is a team not easy to control. They create some problems, you try to face the problems and create our own chances. After the goal it's the character, confidence, spirit. We scored our goal and had chances to score more goals, and they did as well.

"When we decided to bring on another striker we wanted to win the game. Three points would be better than one. We try, but facing a strong team means in the end we need five games without losing. We are in the right way with the right spirit. It's important to get points every game until the end."

On the return of Chris Wood from injury: "His experience, quality, scoring goals, he smells the goals in the box. His physical and mental condition. He has the ability to help us.

"We need to look [only at] ourselves and try to do our best to get points."

  10. Postpublished at 16:17 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

This is Tottenham's longest run without a league win since 1935 - 14 Premier League matches since beating Crystal Palace on 28 December.

They went 16 without winning between December 1934 and April 1935. They got relegated that season.

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-1 Newcastle

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace's Tyrick Mitchell speaking to Sky Sports: "We knew we were going to get chances. We hit the woodwork and knew we were going to get more as the game went on."

On making his 200th Premier League appearance for Palace today: "It was a nice feeling. I was a bit tired towards the end and it was nice to see the fans celebrate my 200th game.

"It's hard. But you want to play. I am happy being tired than not playing."

  12. 'I don't know where the points are coming from'published at 16:13 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stadium of Light

We've seen teams in the past start to fall and they have faltered, they have started to lack belief. There was no lack of effort from the Spurs players today, but was there a desperation about the desire? I'm not sure there was.

It's not like they didn't try today, but was that the desperation level that they need? I'm afraid not. Nothing feels easy. Nothing feels certain. I don't know where the points are coming from.

  13. 'We wanted that win'published at 16:12 BST 12 April

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-1 Newcastle

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta speaking to Sky Sports: "We wanted that win and we are very happy to have won - at home as well.

"It means a lot that we beat a great team. We have Europe as well. It gives us a lot of energy and we have a big squad as well. I hope we will win in the next game as well."

On Tyrick Mitchell who made his 200th Premier League appearance for Palace today: "I am always happy when he finds me in the box. He is my guy and I have been with him for a few years now. He is a fantastic team-mate and a machine."

  14. 'Spurs are in seriously deep'published at 16:10 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stadium of Light

Spurs are in deep. Seriously deep. For all of the effort today they made very, very few real chances in this game.

Now they are officially in the relegation zone, people are taking it seriously. It's been serious for much longer than that. It's been sitting staring at you.

  15. Postpublished at 16:09 BST 12 April

    FT: Crystal Palace 2-1 Newcastle

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored his first Premier League goals for Palace today since his strike against Fulham in a 1-1 draw on 1 January.

The French striker now has 10 league goals this season.

He had scored his first goal in over three months when the Eagles beat Fiorentina 3-0 in the first leg of their Conference League quarter-final tie on Thursday.

Mateta was making his first Palace start since a proposed move to AC Milan collapsed during the winter window.

  16. 'One point is not enough'published at 16:08 BST 12 April

FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Aston Villa

    Aston Villa

Aston Villa goalkeeper Marco Bizot speaking to Sky Sports: "We came here for a win of course, we tried everything in our power to take a win, but unfortunately we end up with one point. It's not enough.

"We tried to push through but it was difficult. They had a few moments. We played well before the goal and after our energy went down and they got strength to push and score.

"We had the options to score a second goal but it needs to go in. We should have taken three points today."

On coming into the starting XI late at short notice: "I have no idea what happened, I noticed that Emi [Martinez] went inside and the goalkeeper coach came to me and told me to prepare for the game. So 25 minutes before [kick-off]."

  17. Postpublished at 16:07 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

Micky van de Ven looked quite emotional at the final whistle. Cristian Romero was in tears when he went off injured earlier on.

Roberto de Zerbi said this was the biggest challenge of his managerial career last week. The challenge is even bigger now, you feel.

Six games to go. No games in hand. Two points adrift.

  18. 'Noise and excitement building around Sunderland'published at 16:05 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Stadium of Light

Fantastic for Sunderland. The noise and excitement is really building in this part of the world, add that to the recent win over Newcastle, who they are leaving behind in the league. They are a team that is lively, spirited and young, and they have really good quality and class.

  19. Postpublished at 16:04 BST 12 April

FT: Nottingham Forest 1-1 Aston Villa

    Dave Edwards
Former Wolves midfielder on 5 Sports Extra

I'm surprised by how happy Forest fans were with the point, they cheered the final whistle. It's a shame that the game petered out, both teams showed moments of quality, there were chances at both ends and played with some real endeavour.

Aston Villa had the better chances but territory wise, Forest really pushed but a really entertaining game.

  20. Postpublished at 16:04 BST 12 April

    FT: Sunderland 1-0 Tottenham

Igor Tudor won one and drew one of his seven games in charge of Tottenham in all competitions.

It's safe to say if Roberto de Zerbi ends this season with a similar record, they will be relegated.
