It's almost four months since Motherwell lost at home. They've conceded one goal since mid-October here, that in the dramatic draw with Rangers midweek.

Fans are loving coming here and watching an entertaining side deliver time and again.

The expectation is they will dispatch an Aberdeen side who have had a very disappointing campaign.

New signings may give them fresh impetus, though, as they look to get on track and take advantage of games in hand to push up the table.

Kilmarnock manager Neil McCann is dreaming of a third win in a row at home.

"Really pleased how they have taken the message on board and taken on the challenge head on," he tells BBC Scotland about the response during his short spell in charge.

"Particularly the last two performances have been great considering we've had back-to-back wins at home.

"There have been a number of good things in other games and this is just the next opportunity to get the next win.

"You need to respect Celtic and what they offer. They have made a number of changes, but they have a very good squad and Martin O'Neill is a very shrewd manager."

Interim manager Martin O'Neill says "I don't think it counts a jot" that it is his 300th game in charge of Celtic today.

"The most important thing is to try to win," he tells BBC Scotland.

"We got a great boost from a last-minute winner in midweek and we have to go and see if we can capitalise, but it won't be easy against this Kilmarnock side."

Asked if Hearts and Rangers meeting later in the afternoon means that Celtic could apply pressure on their title rivals with a win, O'Neill says: "We can only control the things in front of us and whatever happens later on has no bearing on this game."

Meanwhile, O'Neill also confirms that Arne Engels' thigh strain will keep the midfielder "out for a number of weeks".

Mark: Hatate and Maeda both start for Celtic, but I am wondering what versions of them turn up today and that could be the key early on.

Hugill will be very interesting. He's got a good pedigree coming from Manchester United.

I know he's had a few loans in the lower leagues in England, but the one that sticks out for me is Findlay Curtis.

I think he's a fantastic player and it's a real find to get him in here on loan from Rangers.

It will take a big performance, but I think it is one that's well within them.

A last-gasp goal from Stephen Welsh, on loan to Motherwell from Celtic, denied Rangers the opportunity to unseat Hearts at the league summit today.

The 1-1 draw at Fir Park leaves Danny Rohl's side five points adrift of the pace-setters from Gorgie.

Time and again, Hearts' mettle has been questioned. And, at every turn, they have come up with the answers.

Having lost to St Mirren, they faced a Hibernian side thirsting to inflict more damage on their rivals' title bid but found their way to another derby winner in the dying embers.

Hearts continue to heap pressure upon the Glasgow two. They have beaten Rangers and Celtic at Tynecastle and in their respective strongholds at the other end of the M8.

A draw would do for Derek McInnes and his team. However, Hearts know, and have shown, they have what it takes to prevail in Govan.

Rohl has resurrected a sinking ship at Ibrox and his January additions look well chosen.

This will be the sternest test yet of Rangers' championship credentials and, more pointedly, their capacity to handle the mental burden.

Just the two changes for Motherwell after another impressive display earned them a point against Rangers on Wednesday.

Suspended Lukas Fadinger and Stephen O'Donnell drop out for Oscar Priestman and Tom Sparrow.

Multiple postponements mean this is Aberdeen's first game in a fortnight and they bring in four winter signings for their debuts.

Goalkeeper Per Kristian Bratveit, Tom McIntyre, Dennis Geiger and Afeez Aremu give a new-look feel to the Dons. Scottish Cup hero Dimitar Mitov is benched.

Celtic signings have made a habit of fanfare this season.

Kelechi Iheanacho, Junior Adamu and, now, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have netted late winners on their debuts.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is the highest profile of the lot. He had not played a competitive match since his final outing for Besiktas in May before bending in a fabulous strike to sink Livingston in the 92nd minute on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old has clear pedigree. "A very, very, very, very fine player," was interim manager Martin O'Neill's assessment.

Questions were asked about his readiness to contribute amid familiar ire about the Celtic board's transfer strategy.

While Oxlade-Chamberlain can do little to address the latter gripe, he certainly calmed the former.

The midfielder is on the bench again this afternoon, but his class and experience could yet prove pivotal at the pointy end of the campaign.

Three games and eleven goals in a big day in the top-six fight.

There was a comfortable win for Hibs at home to struggling St Mirren, while bottom side Livingston fought back from two down to earn a point at Dundee.

Elsewhere, Dundee United came out on top in a five-goal thriller at 10-man Falkirk.

Tony Docherty returns to the Aberdeen dugout today. That is certainly not the news Dons fans were expecting this week.

The former Dundee boss has rejoined the Pittodrie side to strengthen Peter Leven's interim management team until the summer as the Scottish Premiership club prepare to wait until then for a new head coach.

Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has promised an announcement about a permanent appointment "imminently", but Docherty's surprise return means whoever is chosen will not arrive until the end of the season.

It comes a week after it was revealed that former Rosenborg, Brann and Saint-Etienne head coach Eirik Horneland had emerged as a leading candidate to succeed Jimmy Thelin, who was sacked on 4 January.

Aberdeen are in advanced discussions with the 50-year-old Norwegian as Pfannenstiel revealed that Docherty was coming in to assist Leven "during this interim period".

They face Jens Berthel Askou's Motherwell this afternoon. On Wednesday, there's an instant rematch in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup. A huge few days in both teams' seasons.
