Right, we move on to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who says he is "really excited to recover and go again" in the FA Cup at home to League One Wigan on Sunday.

Arsenal, who are four points clear at the top of the Premier League following Thursday's draw at Brentford, have not been past the fourth round of the FA Cup since winning the competition six years ago.

Let's see what he had to say...

That's all from Eddie Howe, here's a recap of the top lines from his news conference before Saturday's fourth-round FA Cup tie at Aston Villa:

  3. 'Sympathies for any manager who loses their job'published at 11:53 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

A final word from Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Thomas Frank and Sean Dyche, both of whom lost their jobs this week: "It always saddens me when that happens because you know how...well, you just have sympathy for every manager because you know how difficult the job is.

"Especially in the modern day life of a manager, with the sways and speed of opinions changing quicker I think than it ever has been due to various different factors and forces that you have to compete against. Sympathies for any manager who loses their job, for me I don't think too deeply about it.

"My immediate focus goes back to myself and what I can do to help the team that I have and that's all I can do every day."

  5. 'Trippier is such an important player for us'published at 11:40 GMT 13 February

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Kieran Trippier's form: "It's been a really difficult period for him because I think the full-back positions are physically one of the hardest that you will have in a team. The ground they are expected to cover. Kieran isn't 20-years-old anymore so he is having to deal with the position and the games at a time in his career where it is probably going to be the hardest for him to do that.

"I think what you have with Kieran is an unbelievable leader. His appetite and hunger for success is undiminished and I thought his game against Tottenham was the strongest he has had. He looked really, really good athletically. He uses the ball so well, but I think his leadership with the back four was outstanding.

"I think it is the best we have looked defensively as a group for some games. I was very, very pleased with him. He is such an important player for us. When he plays well and is in a really good place, I think the team benefits so much from that.

"There is a big expectation on him to try and deliver but at the moment he is our only fit recognised full-back and that is tough. It's tough for him to take that burden physically but I think he is managing it really well."

And on if there has been any progress on Trippier's contract, which runs out at the end of the season: "There has been no development on his contract but I would never rule anything out with Kieran. Those will be discussions for another day with Kieran and ourselves. Very open and we will have dialogue as the season progresses."

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Eddie Howe on Sweden defender Emil Krafth's fitness and the development of 18-year-old English full-back Leo Shahar: "Emil at the moment is not close. Leo is developing well, I think I have got to be really careful. It is very easy for people to see the name and think he is a full-back and to put him in, but I have to be mindful of when players are ready to play.

"All Leo can do is keep developing his game and train really well. I will have to make that decision when I feel he is ready to play at the level we are playing at.

"Leo, from what I see and what I know, believes in himself and backs himself and I think he has real potential."

Bruno Guimaraes gets attention during their midweek win at TottenhamImage source, Getty Images

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was also asked about Bruno Guimaraes looking like he wanted to stay on the pitch even though he was injured: "With Bruno the other night, he got the injury when he got the injury. I don't think there was any pre-injury.

"Obviously at that stage of the game he was getting fatigued, maybe on a normal situation with a full bench we would have maybe taken him off before that moment but we didn't. We ran out of midfielders and he stayed on the pitch and unfortunately got injured."

And on if Nick Woltemade could cover more in the midfield: "He can definitely play a little bit deeper. When he has played as a nine for us we have used him deeper anyway, we haven't encouraged him to be a runner in behind. That is not necessarily his biggest strength, his biggest strength is his technical ability and coming to feet so we have played him slightly lower anyway.

"Definitely I think he could play various positions. I think he a talented footballer, he is intelligent and tactically he is very good. There is a lot of scope to look at a couple of things with him."

  10. 'The feeling we have between each other is everything'published at 11:01 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on the celebrations post-Tottenham win: "It's massive for us that spirit, the feeling we [club and fans] have between each other is everything.

"It's the missing ingredient that you can never define, how much you want to win, not just for yourself but for your teammates, for the coaching staff.

"The energy you try and give each other every day, that you try and feed off. That was there in abundance on Tuesday and we are going to need that again for the remainder of the season."

  12. Joelinton 'doing well' and Livramento 'on track'published at 10:55 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on Joelinton and Tino Livramento's respective recoveries from injury: "Joelinton is doing really well. I don't think he will make this game but he won't be too far beyond this game. He is desperate to be back involved which he normally is but that is a great sign for us. That means he is feeling good about his body and he is very positive.

"Tino is on track. I think it was early March was the diagnosis, the return to play. At the moment he is back on grass, he is running, building his fitness back up and we are happy with how he is doing."

  13. 'We would love to win another title, in any other way we can'published at 10:51 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on if he sees the FA Cup as one that could bring the club another final and maybe silverware: "I think we have to see it like that. I think we are here to try and win.

"Last year in the EFL Cup and what that meant to everybody and the experience we went through to win the competition. We would love to do it in another, in any other way we can. If that is the FA Cup then that is a great opportunity for us.

"We look at tomorrow as an opportunity to win this game that is in front of us. We have then got a long travel midweek back into the Champions League but we will worry about that when we get there. All focus and all eyes are on this game."

  14. 'With Bruno we are awaiting the full extent of the hamstring injury'published at 10:46 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe was next asked about the fitness of Lewis Miley and Bruno Guimaraes: "Lewy we are waiting day by day, he has a dead leg. He got a bad knock to his, I think it was his thigh. There was a little bit of muscle damage on the knock so we are having scans on it every few days to see how bad it is, we don't think it is going to be long term and hopefully he will be back soon. Let's wait and see on that one.

It is simply not possible to play so many games and at the same time maintain quality especially for teams like Villa who cannot spend hundreds of millions to get a bigger squad. I for one would sacrifice quantity for quality and an even playing field.

  16. 'We are searching for that consistency'published at 10:40 GMT 13 February

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 17:45 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe on how much of a lift the win against Tottenham has given the club: "It's definitely helped the feeling and the mood around the training ground. That is what winning does. It is such an amazing thing, it can change the perspective of everyone. So it was a big win for us but now we have to try and back it up. We are searching for that consistency."

And on how important an FA Cup run would be: "We'd love to have one. We get asked a lot about the cup competitions, our attitude won't change. We will try and win the next game and that is Aston Villa away, a really tough draw. Maybe not the draw we wanted but it's a competition we want to try and do well in. Enjoyed our run last year, disappointed to exit when we did so the aim to go as far as we can."

It has only been four days since Eddie Howe’s last pre-match news conference.

But the mood on Tyneside could not be any more different after Newcastle United’s 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

Howe said he had “no doubt” he was the right man for the job before his side's crucial victory as the head coach fielded questions about his position following just one win in eight matches.

His players certainly showed they were fighting for him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The challenge now is for them to continue to do so as they prepare for a trip to Villa Park in the FA Cup.

Newcastle will certainly travel with renewed belief, following a rare away win, as match winner Jacob Ramsey faces Aston Villa for the first time since leaving his boyhood club last summer.

Fellow midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is a big doubt, though, after coming off with a hamstring issue and expect Howe to deliver an injury update on his captain this morning.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has also been speaking this morning to preview the Magpies' fourth round tie against Aston Villa.

The FA Cup is one of the last chances for silverware for his side after a dip in form over the past few months. They were knocked out of the EFL Cup 5-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals by Manchester City and they are currently 10th in the Premier League. Newcastle are also still in the Champions League, competing in the play-offs against Qarabag.

Newcastle did win their last game in the top-flight, a 2-1 win against Tottenham, but in the previous last five league games they registered one win, one draw and three losses.

We'll bring you full quotes from the Magpies boss's news conference shortly.
