Your views as Spurs close in on Igor Tudor

  1. ICYMI: Spurs line up Tudor as short-term Frank replacementpublished at 14:40 GMT 13 February

If you are just joining us, BBC Sport is reporting that former Juventus manager Igor Tudor has agreed a deal to take over as head coach at Tottenham until the end of the season.

He will replace Thomas Frank, who was sacked by Tottenham on Wednesday after just under eight months in charge.

His sacking followed a dismal 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle on Tuesday.

That defeat left Spurs 16th in the Premier League and just five points above the relegation zone following a dreadful run of form.

The north London side are winless in their past eight Premier League games - their longest run without a victory since October 2008.

They have won just two of their past 17 league matches and picked up only 12 points in that time.

Really don't know much about him so will give him a chance. It all depends how the players react. As individuals they are fine but as a team they totally lack cohesion in transition from defence to midfield and then to any kind of meaningful attacking policy.

    Paul

Based on his quote "I want courageous and intensive football, not only uniquely based on the defence. I want people who come to the stadium to be entertained and not disappointed." And the fact he saved Udinese from relegation then he might be the man. Bit of a left-field choice.

    Paul

Igor Tudor... Could be a historic appointment for Spurs.

Surely this is a wind-up?! Are Spurs trying to find a way to get relegated?? This is a disaster

    John

I can’t believe we would employ someone who was sacked in his last job . Knows nothing about the premiership . Typical Spurs , no idea and not prepared to pay the money for someone who has been there before and kept teams up.

    Emilio

Is that the best they can do? Someone with NO Premier League experience! Unbelievable! ENIC haven’t a clue. I have supported Spurs for over 60 years and I have never been so disheartened

Igor Tudor's reputation as a no-nonsense defender was forged during successful spells with Juventus, at club level, and his national side Croatia.

He won back-to-back Serie A titles with Juve - in 2001-02 and 2002-03 - and started the 2003 Champions League final, finishing with a runners-up medal after Juve lost to rivals AC Milan on penalties at Old Trafford.

Tudor also helped his country to a shock third-place finish at the 1998 World Cup in France.

Igor Tudor …. 9 jobs in 10 years , fits the Tottenham master plan. Good job they’re out of the FA Cup.. gives ‘em a 9 day break.

    Ian

Great idea get someone in who knows absolutely nothing about the club. That will lift the players spirits. Just relegate us already and be done with it!!

    Jack

Sacked by June in less time than Frank lasted. Doesn't sound like the necessary credentials.

Don't be daft Pep. If Haaland is not 100% then dont play him. Its infuriating as a City fan that we have always played our best players in games like this risking injury. With all due respect we should beat Salford with a heavily rotated side.

I'll be very sad when Bernardo leaves, he's our guy who runs other teams ragged for 90 minutes. He's our Joelinton, our Martinelli, I cannot imagine anyone we could replace his engine with. Every team needs a player for other teams to despise, he's our rat.
