It's still fairly sedate at the Groupama Arena as both sides go through their warm-ups.

Although the game is virtually meaningless for Rangers as far as this tournament goes, it's a big one for Robbie Keane's men, but it doesn't have that feeling yet with under 20 minutes to go until kick-off.

On a more important note, I've left my jumper and hat at the hotel and it's chilly already.

For the EFL Championship fans out there - fellow culture lovers - you might well recognise another name in the Ferencvaros set-up.

Callum O'Dowda played over 250 times in England's second tier for Bristol City and Cardiff after starting his career with Oxford.

The left-sided player has 32 caps for the Republic of Ireland and was brought to Hungary by Robbie Keane in the summer.

    A very Football Manager-esque signing.

Ferencvaros are without first-choice goalkeeper Denes Dibusz, who has had surgery on a broken finger.

He is replaced by David Grof, who has played the past two in the league and also featured once for Hibs as a substitute against Morton in the League Cup in 2008.

Ferencvaros head coach Robbie Keane played down reports linking him with the recently vacant Celtic managerial post but didn't rule out a future move back to the club where he played in 2010.

The Irishman was one of the names mentioned amid Celtic's recent managerial search following Brendan Rodgers' resignation at the end of October before the appointment of Wilfried Nancy.

Keane took charge of Ferencvaros in January following a successful spell with Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

"I can't help speculation," he said. "My mind is here, I'm very happy. It's been a successful year, we won the league last year, we're doing well in Europe now, top of the league, so I'm really enjoying it here.

"There are good people here. Sir Alex Ferguson always said to me go to a club with good people and this club is very well run. I couldn't be happier here."

When asked whether it would be a dream of his to one day manage at the club he supported as a boy, he added: "You can never say never in football."

    Ferencvaros v Rangers (17:45)

Rangers, lying 33rd of the 36 teams, are still seeking their first win of this season's Europa League.

Ferencvaros are sixth and another win would put the reigning Hungarian champions and domestic league leaders in a strong position to qualify automatically for the last 16.

You might know their head coach...

  6. Change of shape for Rangerspublished at 17:13 GMT 11 December 2025

    Ferencvaros v Rangers (17:45)

Two switches and a change of shape for Rangers as James Tavernier comes in to form what looks like a back five for Danny Rohl's side.

Danilo is brought into the attack, with injured Nedim Bajrami and suspended Mohamed Diomande out.

Versatile Dujon Sterling is back in the squad.
