If we get a positive result tonight then all of a sudden we could make the play-offs along with a good result on Saturday, but it could be different if we lose both.

It will be a tough ask here.

We are under way in the 19:45 kick-off in the Championship match at St. Mary's.

It's the two most in-form sides in the division over the last 10 games. So, will this be an end-to-end goalfest? Or a tense snoozefest?

If Norwich get a result then it's game on but this is going to be a difficult game, a really tough test.

If they can get a positive result then they can gain a march to the play-offs.

It won't take me long to take you through the MK Dons changes - there aren't any.

That shouldn't come as a huge surprise, given the form they are currently in, with 11 goals in their last three games.

Colchester make two changes from the team that drew with Crawley.

Frankie Terry and Finley Barbrook come in to the team, with Teddy Bishop and Jack Payne dropping out.

Bromley will be looking over their shoulders, with three teams - including MK Dons - having a game in hand.

Cambridge and Notts County fans will also be hoping for a Colchester win tonight.

If that does happen, the U's will instantly revive their play-off hopes.

MK Dons aim to narrow the gap on League Two front-runners Bromley to two points tonight.

They can boast a 13-game unbeaten league run, their best since 2022, and have scored an average of two goals per game this season.

By contrast, Colchester are the very definition of inconsistent right now.

They followed up a 2-1 win at Newport County with a goalless draw at home to another struggling side in Crawley Town last time out.

Prior to that, they had back-to-back losses, a win, a draw and a loss.

Here's how the teams line up at St. Mary's tonight.

Southampton make one change from the team that won 2-1 at leaders Coventry on Saturday, bringing Samuel Edozie for Cameron Bragg, who is among the substitutes.

He will be sat on the bench alongside Jamie Jones, the 36-year-old former Leyton Orient, Wigan Athletic and Preston North End goalkeeper drafted in as cover until the end of the season.

Norwich City have made four alterations, with Ruairi McConville, Kellen Fisher, Sam Field and Paris Maghoma all starting.

McConville returns after missing the last two matches with a knee injury, but the Canaries still have a lengthy injury list.

Ben Chrisene joins the absentees, while Harry Darling, Pelle Mattsson and Liam Gibbs are among the subs.

Here’s how the Championship table looks ahead of Southampton against Norwich.

The Saints are the third highest scorers in the division; but the Canaries have one of the league’s best defences.

Not quite the unstoppable force against the immovable object, but close.

Southampton have taken 24 points from their last 10 Championship games, which makes them one of the top two sides in the division in that period.

The trouble for them is so have Norwich City. Which should make tonight’s game a real humdinger.

After Watford’s 3-1 win over Wrexham last night, the Saints have the incentive of moving into the Championship’s top six for the first time since the opening day of the season.

It’s worth remembering that they were fourth from bottom when Tonda Eckert came in as head coach in November.

If, however, Norwich can become the first team to beat the Saints in two months, they will climb above both Swansea and Birmingham and into the top 10.

Again, they were struggling before putting together a sequence of eight wins and two defeats.

Something’s got to give. Unless It’s a draw. Which is what most of the teams in the top half of the table will be hoping for.

It’s officially been the UK’s warmest day of the year so far – but now the sun’s gone done, it’s time for the floodlights to glow and the action on the pitch to heat up.

Two games to focus on tonight, with implications on promotion battles in the Championship and League Two, and with a couple of lengthy unbeaten records on the line.

On the south coast, two of the Championship’s in-form sides meet, as Southampton – who haven’t lost in 10 games – take on Norwich City (19:45 GMT).

Meanwhile, in Buckinghamshire, MK Dons will look to extend their unbeaten run to 14 matches, and narrow the gap on League Two front-runners Bromley, to two points, as they host play-off hopefuls Colchester United (20:00 GMT).
