Northampton Town have signed defender James Maxwell on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old left-back was released by Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season and will become the Cobblers' third signing of the summer when he officially completes his move on 1 July.

In his four seasons at the Eco-Power Stadium, he made more than 100 appearances, scored four goals and helped the club win the League Two title in 2024-25.
Cobblers boss Chris Hogg told the club website, external Maxwell was "a solid defender who was aggressive and competitive, won his battles and loves to get forward".
"He was really keen to come and be part of what we are looking to do here and that stood out for us during our conversations," Hogg added.
Maxwell joins striker Harvey Saunders and goalkeeper Zach Jeacock at Sixfields for the new season.
