Once Michael van Gerwen gets into a rhythm, he looks like a machine on that stage.

As he did against Stephen Bunting in the last eight, MVG has well and truly locked in to lead after going behind.

A poor start for Michael van Gerwen on his throw, who takes just 121 from six darts.

Cool Hand is down to a finish first at 93, but with Van Gerwen waiting on 97.

Humphries leaves 32 with his first two, but is wide on double 16.

Luke Humphries might be world number two and England's number two, but in the past few weeks it hasn't looked like he's second on any metric.

    Humphries v Van Gerwen

This should be a thriller, with both men looking in good touch earlier this season.

Will it be a repeat of this year's World Championship semi-finals in tonight's final, or an all-Dutch affair?

Luke Humphries to throw first, game on!

  9. Humphries v Van Gerwen - head-to-headpublished at 21:38 GMT 5 February

    Humphries v Van Gerwen

Tonight's second semi-final pits two of the biggest names in the sport together as defending Premier League champion Luke Humphries faces seven-time winner Michael van Gerwen.

The two men faced each other four times during last season's campaign, with Humphries claiming victory in three of them.

But Van Gerwen is the more recent winner of the two of them, beating Humphries 10-5 at the World Series Finals in September 2025.

    Result: Clayton 4-6 Van Veen

Jonny Clayton's average dropped significantly during that semi-final from his quarter-final win over Josh Rock, falling around 15 points to 94.86.

Gian van Veen did not quite manage 100 per visit, but was not far off at 98.37.

On the doubles, both men were similar and it was Clayton who was fractionally better.

The Welshman took four of his 11 attempts, with Van Veen finishing six of his 18 chances.

    Result: Clayton 4-6 Van Veen

Throwing for the match, Gian van Veen starts proceedings with a 180.

Two visits later, he lands another to leave 42 for the match after just nine darts.

He may be young, but he is the world number three for a reason, taking out 42 in two darts for a 6-4 victory and a place in tonight's final.

Credit to Jonny Clayton for that fightback, but it only ever looked like Van Veen would win that one.

I mentioned earlier that Josh Rock jokingly called Jonny Clayton the "old boy" of the Premier League yesterday.

Clayton has shown plenty of experience to claw his way back into this one.

First Jonny Clayton and then Gian van Veen land maximums consecutively.

An 87 from Jonny Clayton buy him a visit at 75 to hold throw.

Treble 17 is perfect and after a good marker at double 12, lands it at the second attempt to cut Van Veen's lead.

    Clayton 3-5 Van Veen

Credit to Jonny Clayton, who starts off this leg with five perfect darts.

It does very little to put off Gian van Veen, needing 131 for the match.

Treble 17 leaves 80. Double 20 is perfect at first and the second for the double double narrowly misses.

Clayton comes and on double 19, breaks back on the Dutchman.

    Clayton 2-5 Van Veen

Both men get below 200 but are on bogey finishes at 178 and 180 respectively.

Next, Jonny Clayton and Gian van Veen set up chances at double 20.

Clayton splits the 20s and then misses twice at double 10.

Van Veen almost follows suit with two misses at tops, but does just enough to land the third dart.

The Giant with another break and a 5-2 lead.

    Ian Mitchelmore

Jonny Clayton will be frustrated that he has not been able to emulate the high standards he set in his quarter-final win over Josh Rock.

Credit to Gian van Veen, he's proving exactly why he's world number three.

He looks made for the Premier League stage.

  19. Van Veen doubles lead over Claytonpublished at 21:26 GMT 5 February

    Clayton 2-4 Van Veen

Better from both men who exchange a series of two treble visits to start off leg six.

Down in the 130s, Gian van Veen gets a 131 chance to hold but can only leave tops. Jonny Clayton, from 138, leaves 52.

Double 20 is no good for the young Van Veen, but he pins the 10s with aplomb.

    Clayton 2-3 Van Veen

    Mark Webster
Former BDO world champion on Sky Sports

Jonny Clayton just can't get his scoring going at all. He's scoring too late in legs and he's a bit fortunate that he's not 4-1 down.
